Talim stirred as the loud voices woke her up. But everything seemed so blurry... and the voices... she couldn't hear anything clearly. But she felt something warm trickled down her arm and it took her a moment before she realized that it was her blood. Blood loss... at this rate, she might...
Talim grimaced as she tried to move her injured arm but it hung there uselessly. Weak and tired, she felt the darkness called out to her and she slowly closed her eyes once more.

The giant creature stopped in front of her, taunting her with these words and then continuing in its walk. It tried to intimidate her with these words and with its menacingly large size. Gerhilde knew that it would do just these. As it continued to walk on, back towards her and gaining distance from her, she picked up a rock larger than her fist and threw it, hitting the monster at the back of the neck with a thud.
“Put her down now or I’ll force you,” she demanded. Then, she returned a taunt: “You say you’ll snap me like a twig, try me! I thought giants are imbeciles that they could not even pick one twig from the ground though hard they should try! Brawns without brains as they say...”
Gerhilde maintained a ready stance and watched the creature closely, prepared for any action it might do.

Astaroth was on his way when the woman threw a rock at his head. He slowly turned around with his eyebrows raised as if surprised.
“Put her down now or I’ll force you,” “You say you’ll snap me like a twig, try me! I thought giants are imbeciles that they could not even pick one twig from the ground though hard they should try! Brawns without brains as they say...”
Astaroth chuckled he knew what she was trying to do and it would not work.
She assumed a ready stance. she wanted to fight him.
Astaroth heaved the girl off of his shoulder and placed her gently on the grass. "Your the only imbecile here maggot. Look at how badly she is bleeding by the time this fight is over she will most likely be dead" Astaroth knew she had more time than that he had seen worse, and caused worse. Astaroth then positioned himself right infront of the girl.
"Oh well if you are that eager to die COME GET HER!!"
Astaroth entered his fighting stance. He put his left foot foward and his right back. He had his right hand positioned on the handle and his left in the middle. He was ready for her.

Gerhilde only squinted as she smiled. She knew.
"Oh well, if you are that eager to die, COME GET HER!!"
Gerhilde was only happy to oblige. She dashed forward and feinted a thrust, but at the last moment when the strike was about to connect, she stopped and backed away, step after step as she anticipated the giant’s attack.

She dashed forward and thrust her sword straight at the golem but feinted the attack.
Astaroth took his axe in one giant hand and stepped sideways and spun it in a huge vertical circle straight at the woman.

Gerhilde had already taken several backsteps in anticipation to this strike and it swung upwards directly in front of her, causing debris and dust to rise. The strength of the assault blew a gust of wind towards her causing her to stagger a few steps back before regaining her balance.
She gripped her longsword with both hands even tighter. She knew that this was no easy fight from the start. Its mere size, strength and reach presented the greatest obstacles before her. It was quick too, despite its mass. She would have to be careful while facing this creature.
Cautiously, she inched towards it and waited for another strike.
“Vile beast! Show me what you got!” she dared it.

the attack had missed. but astaroth had payed attention to how she reacted. She was thrown of balance from the sheer force of his attack. She then proceeded to slowly move in on the giant. The woman taunted him again. Astaroth could not help but chuckle, the woman thought him a fool. Astaroth knew her weakness now.
Astaroth approached her and raised his axe to strike down on her she was ready to quickly move out of the way, but instead astaroth quickly turned his axe upside down and brought it down to the ground with extreme force. He created a tremor and the women was thrown off balance again. Astaroth opened his arms widely and bear hugged the woman reaching the shaft of his axe behind her back. The giant held on with extreme force and kept making his hug tighter and tighter until he heard a snap. "FEED ME. YOUR SOUL"
"I told you i would snap you like a twig HAH HAH"

The attack was meant to crush her bones. She heard cracks in her as her chest was seized with pain. It was her ribs giving way to the force of his attack. She had to get away fast or else the continuous snapping of her ribs would pierce her lungs and her heart to her death.
She stared at the sky glaring brightly above her, blinding her for a moment. She saw her people, homeless and vagabond on a foreign land. She saw her highness, to whom she had sworn loyalty with every resolve, a grim expression on her royal hard face, doing everything she could for the good of Wolfkrone. And then, she saw herself under the sky, peered from the clouds partially obscuring the scene.
‘No!’ she resolved. ‘I cannot die.”
She gripped her sword tighter on her left hand, blood starting to flow from her palm.
“For... the glory... of Wolfkrone!” she strained. Slowly, she adjusted her grip of her sword until her grasp was on the upper fourth of the blade. She pointed the tip of the sword into the beast’s belly and thrust it, weakly at first but gaining in strength. Her hand moved back, gripped again but further down the blade and thrust forward. Over and over again in small quick motions as her blade pierced the flesh of the golem. She angled it upwards as the sword entered its skin trying to find the beast’s heart.
The giant was relentless inspite of the wound she gave it and continued on its crushing motions.
Finally, she felt the top of her sword hilt pound on the golem’s flesh. She felt the warm ooze on her hand as it seeped out through the wound she induced. She could not breathe at this moment, with half of her ribs broken and the hug compressing her efforts to expand her lungs to breathe air.

Astaroths grip grew tighter and tighter squeezing the handle of his axe against her spine. The woman frantacilly reached for her sword and stabbed astaroth repeatedly in the stomach then thrust her whole sword in her stomach. Astaroth winced slightly but continued to squeeze harder and harder. He could hear her gasping for air and he continued gripping harder and harder. His axe handle pressing harder and harder until *SNAP*. He had broken her spine. He knew she was done for. She let out a blood curdling scream of agony. Astaroth felt her go limp and threw her to the ground.
"Be careful what you ask for! HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH"
Astaroth felt the long sword still impaled in his stomach and he pulled it out. He observed the sword closely, then he snapped it in half. "JUST LIKE A TWIG!" He then discarded the sword.
Astaroth then set down his axe next to the young girl and walked back over to the limp woman. He crouched next to her and stared her directly in the face. " I told you fool, why didnt you just walk away i didnt want to do this." he stared her in the face waiting for a responce. He could see the look of agony and fear on her face. He felt anger for her but he also felt sorry for her. After all she was just doing her job. Astaroth put his giant hand next to her ear and gently rubbing her face with his thumb. He then quickly pulled his hand back. "WHY" he thought to himself " I have never felt sympathy for anyone before."
He continued staring waiting for a responce.

She felt like a feather lightly tossed in the wind as she elevated and then dropped into the ground. She knew her senses were dampening as the line between dream and reality became blurred and vague. She didn’t even feel the impact of her body’s landing and the skid.
She remembered the sharp pain on her chest as one by one, her ribs popped and cracked. And then, there was an intense pain on her back as something snapped there as well. Her legs had gone limped and too weak to move afterwards... as well as completely numb. But even as the giant released its grip on her, she didn’t feel the release on the pressure on her lungs. It felt unable to expand no matter how hard she tried to breathe deeply. There was also the sharp pain each time she breathed because of her broken ribs poking through her lungs.
And so, she laid there, gasping shallowly, skin moist and pale and lips turning blue. Her eyes were half closed as her vision blurred. The last image she saw was the giant walking closer to her. It spoke to her in a muffled way:
“I told you, fool!” or was it her master speaking after he had whipped her on the back thirty-nine times? “It was never worth it! A slave’s destiny is being a slave all his life! Not worth the risk to escape.”
He kicked her on the belly causing her to double over on her side and threw up blood. She laid there still on the kitchen floor, her left cheek wet with her vomit. Her tattered dress, ripped on the back before she was flogged, was swarmed with flies.
“You’re not even worth the whorehouse!” her master continued in his harsh tone. “All your clients would spit on your insolence. You’re good for nothin’. You hear that?! You’re good for nothin’ but feed for the buzzards. I’ll be waiting for your death soon—I hope you do.”
She felt his warm spittle running down her face after he spat on her. She blinked it through. She showed no tear. She would show no weakness, fear nor sadness in front of this beast of a master. All he would find in her is defiance. She blinked again and saw the gigantic golem crouching in front of her. Or was it still her master standing there to spite her? Defiantly, she uttered weakly in between shallow gasps: “I... will... live free.”
Slowly, her eyelids shut as the light in her eyes grew dimmer and dimmer.

In the darkness, Talim felt the wind calling for her. But she was so tired... her whole body ached and she just wanted to sleep. But then she felt the wind whispered a question. And slowly, she answered by reaching out to her beloved wind as she woke up. "I will... save those lost in despair. Wind, please... give me strength."
Her eyes slowly opened and she struggled to sit up. Her heart froze when she saw a giant golem staring down at an heavily injured woman. Beside her was a a giant axe and she assumed that it belonged to the golem. She hesitantly tried to get up but her shoulder flared with pain and she bit her tongue to stop herself from crying out. Blood still leaked from the wound and she was in no condition to fight. But... Her eyes simmered with determination and she slowly stood up. She knew that this was going to cost her later on but for now, there was no no other choice. "Wind... come." The air started swirling around her and she focused on the wound on her shoulder. It slowly started to heal but she could feel her body losing strength at the cost of magic. Her grandmother had warned her that using wind magic was costly and that she mustn't overdo it. When she felt that she could move her shoulder once more she blinked and read the wind around the strange being.
Created from earth and dust, he was a given life through human hands and strange magic. There was no wind around him at all... Talim spoke up quietly, "Golem... What is it that you seek?"

"Golem... What is it that you seek?" Astaroth heard the little one's voice but continued staring at the wounded woman. Astaroth picked up the woman in both arms and carried her next to the young girl. "Answers" He grumbled. He gently placed the woman next to the feet of the young girl. " who are you? and how did you get that wound?"

Talim paused for a moment before giving him a weak smile. "I am Talim, a wind priestess from the East. I augh..." She whimpered in pain as her shoulder still throbbed. "A man named Algol gave me this wound." She took in a deep breath and looked up at the tall giant. "The wind may be able to help you find answers, if you are willing to listen." Next, she turned to the fallen woman and looked at her worriedly. She bit her lips and bent down to lay a palm on her forehead. Quietly, Talim closed her eyes and said a prayer to the wind.
"Wind... please save her."
Talim could feel herself grow even weaker as she transferred the energy in the air into the woman's body to try and save her life. When she felt that the woman's life wasn't in danger, she let go and sat on the grass heavily. Looking up at the golem, she said quietly, "We are in no position to fight you. And I... I never want to resort to combat if I can help it. Please, golem..."
Talim held out a wavering hand to the giant before her. "If I can help you, I will do my best. And I have never judged anyone by their physical appearances. To me, your next actions will tell me whether you're a monster or not."

Astaroth raised his brow. He was confused. No one had ever showed kindness to astaroth before. He stared at her hand, it was shaking, she was badly wounded. He looked at her face, she showed no signs of fear. Astaroth still didnt know what to do with this strange gesture he had never seen before. Astaroth crouched down so he was face to face with the girl. He took her hand and said " I am Astaroth. I was created by the dark priest Kunpaetku to serve Ares. I was given a mission to retrieve soul edge. I have murdered countless innocents to serve an evil priest and an even eviler god, But i am no longer under their control are you sure you wish to place your trust in me?"

Talim smiled at him and held onto his hand. "You may have been created by them but that does not mean you have to follow them. Live life, the way you want to live." She stood up and staggered slightly before regaining her balance. "No one is perfect. You may have... taken the lives of others in the past but as long as you're willing to change, I have no reason to fear or shun you."
Talim tilted her head and looked up at the giant with bright eyes. "With your strength, I'm sure you can save more people than the amount that you killed. For your sake, I shall pray to the wind and ask the dead to forgive you." She squeezed his hand for reassurance before asking timidly, "I am small and young... and I am usually more of a burden than help. But if you don't mind, I would like us to become friends."
