It had been one year since he last saw these ruined walls. Piles of brick lay strewn about while large black birds cawed and pecked at all that remained. A small breeze swept through the destroyed interior of the castle, playfully tossing his long red tresses about.
"This is the second time in one year. Why do I keep returning?" the red haired youth pondered to himself as he fwipped his red bangs from his eyes.
"You know exactly why...because of who you are." said a voice from out of nowhere.
"Oh...you're still with me, I see..." the young man sighed with disinterest.
The youth closed his eyes and stood in silence as the voice continued on about "Nightmare". The demonic voice spoke of the azure armor he wore and the unearthly glow of his red eyes, and Soul Edge.
"Soul Edge?" the young man interrupted with vague interest.
"Ah! I thought that would get your attention...Soul Edge is..."
"Enough..." the red haired youth interrupted again as he began to make his way out of the ruined castle.
"Wait! Do you not wish to reclaim what was lost to us?!" the voice inquired.
The young man kept silent and continued on his current path.
"At least tell me where our destination lies!" the voice pleaded with a hint of irritation.
"Nowhere in particular...Just moving."
And with that, the strange duo left the castle walls and disappeared into the horizon.

The petite girl mumbled to herself as she made her way back to the one place she could call home: Ostrheinsburg, or what was left of it.
In normal circumstances, one would be fearful of speaking to themselves in case others thought that said individual had gone a bit astray in the mind...
Well, aside from the accuracy of such a statement, the castle and its surroundings was said to be cursed; no one would venture there unless they had a death wish. Failing that, the girl with long, raven hair would answer their queries of her self-mutterings with a laugh before she tore their throat out.
Her long pigtails bobbed with each step, the ends being caught in the strong wind; however, she turned her amethyst gaze back to her shadow with a poorly hidden sneer....

Soul Edge. A demonic being, once a living sword, was on a final journey, to end Soul Calibur's existence once and for all...
In order to do this, however, he needed power. In order to obtain power, Soul Edge begun the summoning of souls once again...
As far as Soul Edge could remember from his time as a sword, the Azure Knight had been defeaten by the crystalline knight and Soul Calibur, but nonetheless was still alive. His soul could serve a good purpose in the future...
Thus, Soul Edge had lain his presence upon the ruined grounds of Ostrheinsburg once again. His hood had shrouded his skinless face, his fleshless body masked by the black, draping cloak behind him. Crushing the dry, humanly grass beneath his feet, the demonic sword thrust open the castle doors, stepping further into the castle, only to find his former female servant.
With what mortals would call a exasperated sigh, Soul Edge let out a demanding drone, uncomprehendable to anyone but the person to whom he was addressing.
The Azure Knight failed to confront his master... Soul Edge telepathically spoke to the bipolar assassin, his displeased voice resonating within the girl's mind. [avatar]http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/981/grimreaper124x291.jpg[/avatar]

Tira swallowed, her happier side immediately slipping into the shadowy recesses of her mind for the favouring of her moodier half to echo her Master's displeasure.
The girl sank to her knees and bowed before the newly restored Soul Edge, ebony bangs shielding her face from what she imagined was her Master's angry visage.
"I can go and retrieve him for you, Master...if that is your wish," the pale skinned girl asked demurely.

Upon the young woman's offer to retrieve him, Soul Edge glanced down at Tira before observing the interiors of Ostrheinsburg Castle dismissively.
No... let the foolish soul flee. He is no longer a use to me.
Soul Edge, ascending his fleshless hand for his faithful servant to rise, spoke once again, After roaming this world since my rising, I have come to acknowledge of diminutive souls wielding more power than of grown warriors. The demonic sword droned, Offspring of warriors hold richer souls...

Tira slowly rose, still not daring to make eye contact with this representation of the demonic sword...not yet; she knew what she could get away with when serving under Nightmare, but not this Master, not yet...
"...Do you wish for me to seek these souls out, Master...?" The girl asked before biting her lip at the stupidity of her question.

Soul Edge snarled disapprovingly at the young assassin, not due to the question, but due to the fact that she had doubted herself, shown by the biting of her petite lips.
We shall seek out for them together... however, we have not far to travel.
The demonic sword dove into the hazed memories of his time as a weapon to be wielded, to when he had a servant who had destroyed him once before...
Where is the offspring of the Holy Warrior? A devious smile crept over his inhumane lips.[avatar]http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/981/grimreaper124x291.jpg[/avatar]

The girl suppressed a flinch at the growl before asking for some clarification, "That depends...which one?"

The elder of the two. The female.
Soul Edge responded in answer to Tira's clarification. His voice was somewhat calm, yet had a sense of coldness, and a commanding tone. He was patient with his loyal servant, for now...
During the time in which Soul Edge was a sword, he had felt it... The Grecian mother had the faintest of auras... an aura in which matched Soul Edge's. From the strength of the aura, Soul Edge assumed that she had this aura due to an injury of the sword.
However, this Grecian mother was useless to Soul Edge at the time. Her soul, despite being rich, lacked his own powers. The demonic sword intended on retrieving his own powers before summoning purer souls. Hence why Soul Edge reverted to the Holy Warrior's daughter...
The child had inherited the entirety of Soul Edge's aura from her mother...

The young servant's amethyst eyes lit up as her chirpier side took the reigns of her consciousness.
"She's here! Well, not literally here...but in the cursed city. I've kept her safe for you, Master! Just for you!"
Alive was close enough to safe; that was the conclusion that was met in the mind of the assassin.

The demonic sword smirked at the young assassin's sudden 'enthusiasm'. Whether this was due to her split personality or subconsciously due to the fact that she doesn't want to get killed on the spot for answering incorrectly, was up to Soul Edge to judge.
Nonetheless, he was satisfied. Providing the girl was alive, and the part of himself remains burning within her, he was content.
Good... I praise you. You serve your purpose well.
Soul Edge was thus reminded of the foolish knight who was his previous host. Perhaps we ought to teach the Azure Knight of your ways...
If Soul Edge had known how pathetically weak the Azure Knight would become, the demonic sword would have used the very girl standing before him as his host...

A grin that could have broken a normal individual's jaw erupted upon Tira's face as she suppressed a high pitch cry of joy at such wonderful praise; instead choosing to rock back and forth on her leather clad heels to prevent jumping up and down in happiness.
The petite girl nodded her head eagerly at her Master's next suggestion.
"Whatever my Master desires! Your former host should know that he cannot escape his fate! Yup! <3" This was finished with her grin taking a more sadistic gleam.

The demonic sword shot his glare in the direction in which he had entered the castle from, the doors still wide open from his entrance.
Glancing at Tira, Soul Edge smiled a ghastly grin. We shall tread down the path towards the child you have kept hostage... however, I plan on taking a diversion...
Soul Edge swiveled around, his cloak draping along behind him, masking his hood over his head once again, before the demonic sword spoke once more...
Namely to punish what once was loyal to his master...
The Soul Sword pressed forward in the direction of the doors, beckoning Tira to follow. Come. We shall show the Azure Knight his place.
On that note, Soul Edge and the assassin slipped out of the castle on the road after Nightmare...[avatar]http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/981/grimreaper124x291.jpg[/avatar]

The girl nodded slightly to show her understanding and acceptance of her Master's wishes, before bowing in the more commonly male fashion; however, a foot stepping backhinted at the grace associated with the feminine.
With the circle of sharp silver perched across her body, the assassin followed her Master in his bidding.

Within the cursed city
Pyrrha took a deep breath as she made the final tug to haul herself up onto the roof of the bakery, sitting herself a short distance from the edge to look out towards the ruined castle so close by.
She'd brought a roll with her, and the frail-looking little girl began to eat it contently as she took in the view from her perch.
She would normally never have dared do this. It was dangerous, she was weak, and Tira would be furious if she found out Pyrrha had left her room and risked taking a nasty fall while she was away.
But Pyrrha didn't care. She'd been staying in that room like a good girl for weeks, staring out the window and living for the moments when Tira came in to give her some contact with another living thing. Pyrrha had had plenty of time to sleep and think and give her guardian no trouble at all.
But she felt stronger than usual, here in the city. She was so used to being weak and tired that simply feeling normal again was an awe-inspiring sensation to Pyrrha, who knew nothing of the evil energies seeped into the land around her.
I was right, She thought to herself, finishing her roll with a little smile. Tira's helping me get better. Whatever she brought me here for, it's working. I feel great!
I wonder if I'll be well enough for her to take me home soon?
