Durante crosses his arms and taps his right hand on his left forearm.
"Well, I figure that Soul Edge is a sword that can use hellfire. Nothing that I know of can much defense against that. Therefore, I figure that going to the underworld itself will have something that might. After all, any armor or shields in Tartarus can at least provide some resistance to hellfire, no?"

Berach seemed just as taken aback as Hephaestus was.
"What? The nethers? Do you think you'll survive a trek to where thousands go to suffer for eternity?"

Durante turns his head away from the statue and towards his friend.
"We're not going there soon. I figure that we should find some legendary artifact that would protect us first before heading there."

The Olympians have since closed what few portals there are to Tartarus. To ask them to open them again would only cause conflict among us... you must understand that it is no place for mortals. The gods themselves avoid it. Besides, some of those who dwell among the depths of Tartarus will likely side with Soul Edge, as there is as much unrest among the Olympians as there is between you mortals. We see everything, and naturally we, too, form both pure and evil alliances. But those in charge of the underworld would be reluctant to help you, and even if they do, they do not do anything for free. Their prices are high, and if you enter Tartarus, there is no guarantee that you shall escape with what you want without having to sacrifice something great in return. Just because I have given you a weapon, it does not mean the other gods will.
And it was true enough. Mortals simply did not go around asking deities for swords and shields.
I am forbidden to both reopen the portals and reveal their location. The only one who can help you, I am afraid, is the Spirit Sword.[avatar]http://25.media.tumblr.com/6d7192cf057fe4aa269cac6852c367fd/tumblr_mf1bvmFphg1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

Durante turned his attention back to the statue and shrugged.
"Fair enough. I expected as much, but thanks anyways."
Good thing Soul Calibur was still around. At least, he hopes she still is staying at Sophitia's house anyways. He then looks back at Berach.
"Anyways, I'm done. Is there anything else you need to do while we're up here?"

Berach's head continued to spin. A trip down to the nethers was surely suicide. Even with an artifact to protect against hellfire, there were still all the denizens to contend with. The beasts, the damned, the gods...and, more relevant to him, all nature would be dead there. There would be no grove to recover at, or to pray at for blessings and protection, or to gather for herbs and supplies. The tales of men going to the nethers and thriving were exactly that--stories. He was no grand hero, at least not yet. Though...didn't he just say that, whatever it took, he would do it for the sake of destroying Soul Edge? Perhaps this would be what it took. He grunted to himself. At least it wouldn't be for a while, like he said.
"No, thank you. I'm pretty fine for now."

Durante simply nods.
"All right then."
And with that, he places the bottle of wine next to Hephaestus's statue as thanks for forging the sword for him. Hopefully it will suffice.

Hephaestus eyed the two warriors. If that is all, I shall send you on your way. It is beginning to get lighter, no doubt the Holy Warrior and her Spirit Sword companion may be wondering where you both are. You have a long day ahead of you.[avatar]http://25.media.tumblr.com/6d7192cf057fe4aa269cac6852c367fd/tumblr_mf1bvmFphg1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

Durante turns to Berach after the smith god spoke.
"Well, it looks like he isn't finished yet. Since that's the case, I'm ready to head back. You?"

Berach nods. Now that he had a clear goal to pursue, it would be best to get with Soul Calibur and see where it would be best to begin. The taste of adventure was at hand. It was his first true quest from a god! So exciting!
"Aye! Let's not keep the ladies waiting, it's terribly impolite."

And thus, the two of them descended down the mountain and made the long trek back to the Alexandra home.

Sophitia reached the Gate of the Gods of the Eurydice Shrine. However, she finds a strange man standing in front of the statue of Hephaestus. The man's body was even as well sculpted as the gods commonly depicted in their statues. She raises her eyebrow as she approaches the man.
Excuse me, do you have any business with the gods?
The man slowly turned around and looked Sophitia in the eye. Unbeknownst to her, it was the Hero King Algol.
Business? Perhaps. Why do you ask? Are you their champion?
Champion? That answer did not come easy to her. She was faithful to the gods throughout most of her life, yet she had to forsake them to protect Soul Edge in order for her daughter to live. However, during that pause, Algol interrupted.
Well, it does not matter who you are. You'll suffice.
As Algol raises his arm as energy starts to gather into his palm. Sophitia quickly reacts and draws her arms. Whatever he was up to, it can't be good. She immediately charges at the Hero King. However, before her sword could touch him, Algol slammed his fist into the ground. Suddenly, the area was engulfed in chaotic energy, creating an astral gate. Before she realized what happened to her, Sophitia was suddenly thrown straight through Astral Chaos and out into another world. As for what this world was, who knows. It probably has to do something with ancient Chinese and Japanese warriors fighting a multi-headed serpent.
