Tira is the product of dark intentions and those who harboured them; ultimately lacking in any need being met in order to construct a content human being.
Perhaps, once upon a time, the girl had a chance at living a normal life.
However, an upbringing among the devious organisation that called themselves the Birds of Passage left her a unstable child, one that would thrive in such an environment to become a broken woman.
The organisation dealt with the matter of assassinations, mostly of those of great importance to the political scene within Europe at the time.
Having never experienced genuine happiness nor any form of emotion personally given the environment of her childhood, Tira was a blank, apparently unfeeling canvas - the perfect tool for the Birds of Passage. The death of her Mother figure, the mentor of the Dance of Death fighting style, by Tira's own hand was the final piece of this puzzle [Tira would never recognise how truly this traumatised her].
However, when the evil seed rained down during a mission which brought the chain of command to a burning cinder, Tira was set free from the life she once knew.
Fortunately, a family found the wounded Tira and accepted her into their family with welcoming smiles and gestures. For almost a year Tira lived in the way that common people do...
She did well, for the most part. She never fit in, but that was okay...she learnt to smile when events that her family perceived as good occurred, and frowned and forced tears when presumably bad things happened.
However, when the youngest child received a pet bird for her birthday, something in Tira's heart broke at seeing the creature ripped from its freedom in the sky and caged in iron.
She did what she could never accomplish in her own life: she set the bird free.
All she remembers are the child's cries and the Father's anger, and the blow in the form of a slap to the face that ended her time with the family in a haze of red and blood staining the floorboards.
Finally being left to be her own master, Tira's emotions grew out of control: the smallest thing gave her a great deal of joy, the tiniest negative sent her heart downwards and had her rejecting everything. It was around this time that Tira knew she could not govern herself, and followed the rumours of slaughter and found the being of azure armour that called itself Nightmare.
Having pledged her heart and soul to Soul Edge and subsequently, Nightmare, Tira set about finding a new host body for the sword and a way to get rid of Soul Calibur.
Of course, her attempts were mostly failures...but not before she kidnapped the precious child of Sophitia Alexandra; for use as a possible host for the sword when the child was older. She would mould the child just like her guardians had her.
The assassin herself had not gone unscathed during these happenings...the clashing of the two soul swords had caused her already unstable mind to split - leaving her literally in two minds about everything. These diverse personalities would serve to become both a hindrance and a strength for her.
However, the real fun came when the Mother's face fell upon hearing of the taint that was slowly warping her child and the horrid truth: destroying Soul Edge would destroy Pyrrha.
Having Sophitia working with her was...interesting. A woman that both wanted Tira dead yet pitied her very existence, and tried to reach out; only for the malfested girl to snap back with hatred.
...Everything falling apart soon after...was not as fun.
The plans and her hold over Sophitia, metaphorical. Nightmare...very literal.
However, within the back of her mind, the pale female still recalls that she should have died that very day by the hands of her own Master. She is both relieved and saddened at being saved by the individual she is confused as to how to refer to them as: enemy or friend. The least she could do is pay back the favour; trained assassin she may be, but she still repays her debts.
With a heavy heart, the dark haired female mourns her Master, and awaits the day in which he will rise again; meanwhile raising the child to be his next possible host...
For she has nothing else to hope for.
