Throughout his adventures Dante will grow, and each experience will help me understand the world around him.
Background/History:
Espada, a family name that rang across the seas of Europe for many years. The Espada name was that of legend, many believe it to be the name of Carlo de la Espada, a famous explorer of Spain who traveled all over the world. Carlo de la Espada wrote a journal of his travels, a journal that told of a struggle between two entities that could destroy the world in a heated clash between the light and darkness of man's hearts.
Carlo spoke of witnessing the power of Soul Edge, a powerful and evil sword that ravaged the world. Carlo de la Espada wrote about the swords and how he wished to find them again someday. However, Carlo de la Espada died and his journal rested in the Spanish Empire...in the hands of his grandson Fernando de la Espada, explorer and captain of the Spanish Empire. Fernando always believed his grandfather's stories were just tall tales of his journeys, however Fernando de la Espada became a believer, hearing rumors; stories from his soldiers of the devil blade and the sword of salvation, Soul Calbiur.
The stories all were the same, Fernando wished to venture off to find these blades, to learn of their purpose, however...at home he had a wife who would give birth to his first son, Orgullo. His duty as a father game first, and Fernando took Orgullo and taught him the ways of the world, and how to be a great soldier. Soon after, Orgullo would have a little brother named Dante de la Espada. Orgullo and Dante were brought up to be captains once his father had retired. Both of them were taught the way of the sword, Orgullo being the oldest was a better fighter than Dante since their adolescence.
As they grew, Dante's skill and ego began to grow. But Orgullo was there to always lecture him, and guide him towards the right path. When the time came, Orgullo was a general in the Spanish army. His brother Dante however found another calling, Dante since his teenage years had been reading his great grandfather's journal, the tale of swords of good and evil sparked Dante's need for adventure. Dante began to practice cartography and soon began to make small explorations around Europe at the age of 19.
Dante saw a world that he hadn't seen in his entire life. Dante had found a calling, he wished to be an explorer! "There's so much I can learn. Am I the great grandson of an adventurer...?" Dante asked himself this as the seas of blue stretched out as far as his eyes could see. After a one year voyage, Dante returned to Spain where he was welcomed home with a little sister, a mother and a father. However Orgullo was not in the country. There was no war...where he have gone?
"Orgullo...has been missing." His father said with a heavy heart. Dante was shocked, missing...? "He took the journal Dante..." His father continued. Was Orgullo searching for the swords? Why?! Dante couldn't understand his brother's motives. Dante couldn't stay in Spain, he had to find Orgullo. Taking a ship Dante went on a quest, for four years Dante traveled the seas, saw countless countries. Dante's quest for his brother, the quest of his older blood searching for the swords of power...this would be a test of Dante's will...and his courage....
