After his test run of his abilities at the Eurydice Shrine's Gate of the Gods, Algol naturally reappeared in Astral Chaos. He wanted to see how much he was able to control the chaotic energies of Astral Chaos. While it seemed like he was able to control it to some extent, Algol was not really satisfied with the result because he felt that he was not able to fully control it. Was there too much energy being used? After all, the woman seems to have vanished into another world. Algol summoned his throne and sat upon it to figure out what to do next.
Suddenly, Inferno dropped down in front of him and drew a short sword to slash at his throat. Algol quickly warped himself and his throne behind Inferno and stood up.
"Getting desperate are we?"
Inferno snarled, "I've had enough of you! I'm making good on my promise and killing you first!"
Algol chuckled, "Really now? I'd like to see you try."
Inferno then draws his longer blade in his left hand and charges at Algol. He swings both blade in an X-shaped path, but Algol blocked it with his Soul Calibur energy shield and slashes at Inferno's gut. Inferno tries to pull off rapid thrusts at Algol, but Algol backs away and then slashes down at Inferno. Inferno swings his sword upward and launches Algol into air, but the Hero King then fires out energy balls from his arm cannons from the air. The blasts bounce off and hit Inferno. As he was stunned from the blasts, Algol lands and charges at him with a shield bash with his Soul Calibur energy. Inferno then darts backward from the impact. Inferno suddenly soars into the air and starts spinning around like a buzzsaw. He then flies towards Algol, but he sidesteps away from his attack and punches squarely in the jaw. Inferno then spins and tumbles into the ground towards the arena's edge.
Algol scoffs, "Is that all you got? Whatever you did to power up did not seem to produce much results. You're better off being the sword you originally were.
Inferno heard what Algol said, and he figured he was right. After all, in his last bout against Siegfried, he held Soul Edge, but he wasn't able to draw out all of his power during that fight. As much as he despised being stuck as a sword, he needed a vessel in order to maximize all the power of Soul Edge. He needed to retreat to get his strength back, so rolled off the edge of the arena.
Algol's eyes widened, "Oh no you don't! Get back here!"
Algol jumped off the arena after Inferno and dived after him. As Inferno was falling, he opened an astral gate back into the material world and Algol immediately followed him through the gate.
