soulcalibur.com/It looks like they changed some of the bios on the site, for better and worse. Some of the bios and texts for some characters has disappeared like Natsu, Viola, APat, OPyrrha, and Elysium. Veteran characters bios of their SC5 story seemed to have vanished. Some have completely changed like Patroklos and Pyrrha and others with added info like Xiba and Leixia (acknowledging Kilik for once) and Zwei. We actually have some of Zwei's history. Since he was a child, Siegfried raised him as a warrior. And perhaps Zwei has two souls within him, Ein being the other.

I take that as some kind of revival attempt so that they make the next game more detailed. It seems they didn't like the critics and decided to even change some of their stories to fit better. I don't like when they change things that already happened but somehow it shows that they are working on it and making some efforts. Beside I like Ivy's story about the fact it's the golem's soul that makes her not age, it's more explained like this and Patroklos looks more likeable in the new way he is explained. I also think it's cool that Siegfred took Zwei under his protection and the two souls parts is interesting. Raphael's story is also better explained for why he wish to have Soul Calibur. I guess we will have to see what the next game will look like with those changes.

I thought that with Ivy, the fact that she's probably malfested at birth is what kept her from aging since it's the body that dies of old age and not the soul.
I looked at Raphael's bio again from SC4. It's not that it's better explained, but rather that his reason to get Soulcalibur changed. Originally, he wanted it to change the world to suit Amy and himself, and their SC4 endings are proof of that. His website bio changed it to dispel Amy's malfestation. The reason for his preference for Soul Calibur over Soul Edge seems to have stayed the same though.

To be honest, I prefer the golem solution for Ivy. Of course she is malfested since birth but then why did she stopped aging only at 32? Why not as a baby? Or 7? Or 24? Maybe she had to stop her growing process but then she would have stopped aging at the end of her teens not wait until that random age of 32 or maybe she would have aged slowly but she didn't seem so. The golem was the cause for the soul but it involves magic and that magic happened when she was 32 then it makes sense for me that it may somehow also affect the body maybe protecting it from the evil energy of Cervantes eating her (even if that energy is Soul Edge and Ivy is already malfested maybe she needed protection from getting too much of that evil energy) and from aging as well.
For Raphael, the passage from the Holy stone discovery to get Soul Calibur to purify Amy made sense instead of him deciding that Soul Calibur will be able to create a new world. But it does slightly change his SCIV ending yet that ending is not canon anyway.

I think its because malfestation just has different effects depending on the people. Cervantes turned into a zombie and Raphael turned into a vampire. Not to mention, Xiba was born with the evil energy in him as well and he grew. I guess the same goes for Pat and Pyrrha.

Of course Soul Edge is chaos but I do think it makes sense with the golem as well and happens more at the exact time. Yet the Soul edge chaos thing also makes sense indeed.

I just can't really confirm if the artificial soul contributes to the agelessness or not. I'm just saying if it is, it might not be the only factor given from what I've seen.

Indeed. Maybe a combination of Soul Edge and the magic soul. I do wonder if even Ivy knows and understand what is going on with her age.

Again, no idea. I won't be surprised if she at least has some idea considering she's doing research on the soul blades.
