Name: Doge Adamo Balsamo
Age: 41
Gender: Male
Fighting Style: Abnormal Instinct
Weapon: Execution Axe
Weapon Name: Coronation Axe
Place of Birth: Italy
Appearance:
Alliance: Dark Alliance
Personality: A casual killer, the Doge has little appreciation for human life anymore, focused only on sating his own desires. He maintains his rule through terror and torture, and by lavishly rewarding his closest allies with fine food, wine, gold, and women.
Background/History: In a small Italian kingdom, the people had a curious custom. An Axe was kept in the castle, and used for ceremonial executions of the vilest thieves, traitors, and murderers, presided over by the Doge, the ruler of the kingdom, himself. Being executed by this Axe was the highest shame, a mark of an indelible sin by the people of this kingdom. One day, when a new doge took the throne, he took the Axe and used it to slaughter his rivals, condemning and cursing them to be remembered as villains, before locking the Axe away. This became a vicious cycle, each new ruler executing his old political rivals before locking the Axe away again, promising the start of a new era. Generations stained the blade with more and more blood, giving it the nickname 'Coronation Axe'. When a new doge, Balsamo, took the throne, he made gestures to buck the trend, inviting his rivals to a feast in his honor. During the last course, he departed, using the Coronation Axe to seal the door, and then having his men set the building alight, encircling it as his rivals burned alive, any who escaped the building cut down by the new Doge's men. The Doge's reign of terror had begun, and the Axe, which had been bathed in the blood of innocent and guilty alike, began to stir, a demonic presence awakening, one that hungered for souls...
Relations: Various children and relatives he cares nothing for.
Additional Information: The Doge fat and weak, but his demon Axe, a sort of proto-Soul Edge, gives him unnatural strength and speed. He still rarely engages in hand-to-hand combat unless he has an overwhelming advantage, preferring to send his many loyal soldiers forth in his stead.
