Viola's words rang true, the spear of his father couldnt possibly be what killed his enemy, at least not with such evil that came from it. However he couldnt let the shard fall into others hands.
Now the question, was the answers he sought still on the same path he was taking now? Was it even possible to achieve this 'Deicide' he planned on? It was then that the other woman spoke to him and gave him an idea.
"You are a lancer.. You seem good at it sir. But its no Longinus that you speak of. But it seems worthy of you to find."
RayLeonardo understood the reference. Longinus, the spear of destiny that pierced the side of Jesus, and a revered holy artifact of Rome. Was it possible that such a thing existed that can truly be holy?
"The spear of Longinus...does it truly exist?" the young spear-man asked. He didnt know if he was simply jumping at the womens words meant to be metaphorical, or if she was suggesting to find such a thing.
"There are many holy artifacts that I've heard of such as the Holy Grail, and The Nail of Helena among others. But if such things exist..."
If such things exist will they change RayLeonardo's destiny? There was Soul Calibur and Soul Edge, but according to Talim, those things are powerful but are not what can help him. RayLeonardo needed to find a weapon, Holy or man-made, something that can give him an edge against the evil deity.

"There are many holy artifacts that I've heard of such as the Holy Grail, and The Nail of Helena among others. But if such things exist..."
Viola muttered: "The moon have different shapes depending of the time yet it is still the same moon. The sun also changes color. But there are also other planets." Viola knew she wasn’t very helpful with her riddle. She should let Vanessa speak. Her adoptive mother had two hundred years of knowledge so it probably was useful. Beside the white haired girl was still confused about so many things. Like who was that young man? Were they friends or not? Did they really know each other? So she tried to observe him more, trying to remember anything. She should also go take her orb before Vito and Adele leave the place with the cart… And she would see more…
Ludovigo was embarrassed by the gaze the Vatican captain gave him. Like those he received near the church… He thought: Why do I still look suspicious to that guy? I don’t think he heard what I said about the guards and I tried to act polite and all, like Lord Dampierre would have done… I guess I’m not as good as him with people… I guess I really look like a thief… Everybody sees that…
A little discouraged about it, Ludovigo then asked for a tea and sat down, still trying to listen to what RayLeonardo and the gypsies were saying. He only heard some words but some important ones: Longinus spear, Holy grail…
The blond thief knew RayLeonardo already had a treasure (well a stolen treasure for now) but why were they talking about other treasures? Were they planning something? Planning to steal those relics from the Vatican? Was the Holy grail even in Rome? Maybe. And the spear was probably there… They were great relics and there must be many others in the Vatican’s vault… What treasures they would be…
Ludovigo felt a little guilty for suddenly wishing to get those treasures as well. He just went to the church (well almost since he turned back) and now he was already thinking about stealing… from the church. Maybe he should not… But in another way, Rome had too many riches for a religion who revered poverty… They should give to the poorer. Maybe he could even fight the vampire he met with that which would be a good deed. So if RayLeonardo and the gypsies were planning something, he wanted to be part of it.
But he suddenly realized something and quickly gazed toward Chesire; that Vatican representative will overhear everything! And aside from the stare he gave him, he seemed to be looking in their direction. They weren’t talking very loudly but even if the ordinary customer wouldn’t hear or listen to them, the Vatican captain could… He must be trained in that… He had to do something to distract him! But then he won’t be able to hear what RayLeonardo and the gypsies were saying… He hoped the Hungarian noble would include him in the job. But he now had to distract the captain. Or should he interrupt the conversation? Ludovigo hesitated for a while before he decided to distract the captain. The others may notice him without him having to interrupt and they may realize they should speak about it somewhere else. And include him.
The first thing Ludovigo thought was to drop his cup of tea on the floor while pretending it was an accident and it would distract the captain but it would make a too big scene… He should address him in a more normal way… So he got up with his cup of tea and went back toward Chesire.
"Huh… hum… Scusate signore… but could you… could you tell me where… huh… is the harbour? I’m from Venice so I don’t know… and the market place? Where is it?

"There are many holy artifacts that I've heard of such as the Holy Grail, and The Nail of Helena among others. But if such things exist..."
Viola muttered: "The moon have different shapes depending of the time yet it is still the same moon. The sun also changes color. But there are also other planets."
Vanessa looks at the man and smiles with a warm heart. "The Holy Grail and the Nail of Helena should be rather.. Close since we are in Roma. The Vatican. But of course we can't allow anyone to have the Longinus spear or the other items. You need a weapon for right now." The ebony haired girl says while sipping on her tea. Knowing that Chesire might hear their conversation as he is the captain of the Vatican guards.
Chesire kept a nice ear ready to hear what were Viola, Vanessa, and Rayleonardo were talking about. The captain thought deeply as he heard the Nail of Helena. He did think of taking the nail as he was a high ranking captain so he can go out and kill Michael if needed. But he was afraid of the effects it might have. So he didn't bother. The lance of Longinus was not his weapon of choice. The Eastern sword combat was his specialty.
Little did Chesire know, the man who bumped into him may of heard the secret conversation.
"Huh… hum… Scusate signore… but could you… could you tell me where… huh… is the harbour? I’m from Venice so I don’t know… and the market place? Where is it?
Chesire looked at the man with a confused look. Venetians doing here in Roma this time of the year? Sighing Chesire answers. "Signore, the Harbour is near the Campagna District. Far East of here. But the market is in the Centro District. Just take a left from here." The captain says in a stern and modest voice.

K'an dashed along the streets of Rome the teenage Egyptian boy had in his hand the letter his master had given him to deliver to the king of Wolfkrone. However the boy ran and ran the bow slung over his thin body the quiver slung about his waist.
The boy didnt stop moving forward seemingly stuck on the idea of delivering the letter despite the very clear factor, he had no idea which way Wolfkrone was, as K'an ran he found himself standing in the center of one of Romes large Market Streets from where he stood he could see lots of shops hawking their wares.
There were lots of scents from fruits, to spices to the scent of fancy perfumes. K'an's slender youthful frame moved along the street his legs had finally grown tired and soon enough the smells of the wares of the marketplace caused his stomach to growl in hunger. Though K'an was a slave up until this point he did have a few pieces of gold that he had saved up.
Moving along he stopped before a fruit seller noticing there was only one apple left that was not showing signs of rot and as he dug about his baggy linen pants for his coin pouch he drops the letter which gets picked up by a sudden gust of wind. Turning in time to notice it getting blown away ignoring his hunger he took off after the escaping letter.

K'an was still chasing the errant letter ducking in and out of the crowd his small lean frame made for moving between tight spots. The key his master had given him was tied into a necklace and bouncing loosely. K'an racing after the letter being blown on the wind. His feet slapping hard against the cobblestone lined path but soon the letter blew atop the roof of an old chapel and was caught on the roof. K'an looked around for anyway to climb up he saw a few windows leading up towards the roof. K'an carefully moved to a broken section of wall and jumped up to grab on using his strength he pulled himself up.
Then level now with the few climbable looking grips that he could use to climb up using his nimble frame to scale up towards the roof of the chapel. The wind seemed to have died down and once he was at the top he dusts himself off and moved toward the now still letter sighing and speaking softly to himself as he finally re-obtained the letter "Thought I nearly lost this." The boy looked out though now able to get a look out of the view of the city this was the first time in his short life he could see the full grandeur of the City of Rome his bright brown eyes scanning the horizon.
He finally tucked the letter away and looked down ever slightly noticing someone on a roof top the person dressed darkly was standing there staring right at those passing below soon though the dark figure looked up towards K'an. This gave the young Egyptian pause as he felt how piercing the gaze was.
K'an began to feel dizzy suddenly, the boy stepped back slightly only to feel something behind him. A raspy voice spoke to the little Egyptian boy "You would do wise...to give us that key...boy." K'an's eyes went wide as he tried to look towards the voice but the feel of a hand clasping his mouth and the looks of a knife moved towards the boys throat but merely held as a threat.
K'an was in a state of panic his mind raced from wondering what was going on and questioning if he were going to die like this. But the raspy voice spoke again "Stay silent and heed our warning that key is a danger to you and anyone soon to make your acquaintance... "
K'an stood silent the assailant had the boy at the point of helplessness. However K'an stopped thinking for the moment his eyes looking at the man on the roof lower noticing the look of a crossbow in hand aiming right up at K'an but the man behind him didn't seem to have noticed the man on the lower roof top. The man behind K'an still held the boy but slowly K'an reached and grabbed an arrow from his quiver at his hip and in a quick moment jammed the arrows head back into the mans side the man.
The man gasped and dropped his hold of the boy. While the assailant behind him was writhing from the arrow jammed in his side K'an ducked down quickly as the man on the lower roof with the crossbow pulled the trigger sending the bolt slamming right into the assailants stomach. The man screamed and coughed up a lot of blood. Brought to his knees the assailant pulled something out of his black robes a gunpowder bomb and the man with the last of his strength cackled mockingly. "You are a pawn boy a pawn that key will be your doom i..-coughs- we will pursue you to the ends of the Earth mark my words..you will be running from your own shadows boy.."
With this the assailant lights the fuse. K'an listened till the man lit the gunpowder bomb covering his head to protect himself even if it did little to keep him from getting blasted into pieces. The assailant's bomb exploded in his dying grip blowing the roof and sending K'an flying with the force of the blast off the chaple roof. K'an's lean frame sent hurdling downward. K'an felt his body falling his only thought as he was falling was 'if I die here...who will deliver the letter.' Soon he fainted leaving his fate to any god who would take pity on the boy.

Viola got up from the table and went to take her orb in the cart outside. She told Vanessa and RayLeonardo:
"Excuse me, I’ll be back."
But as she walked outside, she suddenly heard some loud explosion coming from some church roof. Something just happened, some kind of attack or something. Viola was slightly annoyed to not have predicted it but her powers were not always very powerful, her own problems were clouding them and she still had a lot to learn. But she knew her orb would probably be useful now so she quickly went to take it back from the cart.
"Signore, the Harbour is near the Campagna District. Far East of here. But the market is in the Centro District. Just take a left from here."
Ludovigo was listening to Chesire while wondering what to ask him more to distract him from the magical artefact conversation.
"Okay… huh… Campagna district? Far East? And… huh… where is the East?"
But then a loud explosion was heard and Ludovigo quickly went to the window to see what happened. Some church roof seemed to have exploded or something since there was a bit smoke on it. Ludovigo looked at Chesire; That will probably distract the Vatican guard enough… Yet the thief was distracted as well; what happened? Has someone tried some assassination attempt on the Pope or some high position priest? On the roof? Must be someone else… Surely it wasn’t some stealing attempt or the thieves weren’t very discrete…

"Excuse me, I’ll be back."
Vanessa only nodded her head as she looked over at Rayleonardo. Trying to figure out what he is actually searching for in his heart. Its nothing much but to her, the heart speaks more then words.
But then a loud explosion was heard and Ludovigo quickly went to the window to see what happened. Some church roof seemed to have exploded or something since there was a bit smoke on it. Chesire's ears worked into effect as he heard the loud explosion of the bomb. So he walked outside to search for some guards so he can investigate the area. "All guards protect the citizens! I will search for the problem myself! Do not fail me or you will personally learn the wrath of me!" Chesire says as he gathers a small portion of the Vatican guards so he can go searching on his own. As they all know that he is durable to attacks.

The crossbow user on the opposite roof tisks watching the boy get caught in the blast. The mans hood and cloak covered his features though his right arm seemed to not move any and was wrapped in a mass of bandages.
The man saw the boy falling from the roof top. As his job was to retrieve the key letting the boy fall to his doom seemed like a good thing however he felt a dead body would bring him some bad karma later on. He loaded a bolt in the cross bow seemingly using his mouth to do the leading for whatever reason the other arm wasn't moving.
As he heard the sound of the towns people stirring it was only a matter of time before the guards came. Firing the bolt at the rope binding up a closed market stall tarp the tarp rolled out to be able to catch the boy. With the boys safety achieved for now the man with the crossbow walked away silently.
------
K'an landed on the tarp and his form rolled off the tarp onto the street scape several citizens saw the boy get blown from the roof but a majority of them were focused on the smoke billowing from the chapel roof. An elderly couple went over to the boy the couple ran the small clinic nearby the chapel the man and his wife spoke to each other "Is he dead dear?"
The old woman asked. The old man knelt down and checked the boys pulse several more gathered around and began to make various judgments such as "The dirty slave boy tried to kill the high priest." To "Feed the Stray Lamb to the wolves." The old man could feel the boys pulse and noticed a slightly chard letter sticking out of the boys burlap pants.
The bow the boy carried laid on his back and the quiver at his hip had scattered the arrows as he fell. The old man sighed "bring the boy to the clinic ill send word to the guards we may have our criminal or victim best we leave that to them." A man carried K'an to the clinic and the old man shoos the crowd as he goes to look for the captain of the guards.

Viola went to see what happened and came to the crowd gathered around the boy. She heard them saying any kind of statements and wasn’t very surprised. People were like this… speaking and judging when they they didn't even know a thing. But she did wonder who that young boy was… What was he doing on the roof? He was prepared for some kind of fight since he had a bow and some arrows… But he wasn’t alone… He wasn’t the one who provoked the explosion on himself…
But Viola said nothing and decided to go look around for some suspicious person. She thought she may feel his aura and see his soul… Holding her orb, she felt more confident she would be guided toward that mysterious person. As she got more into it, she felt there was something strange about it, really strange… The area was eerie…
While RayLeonardo was busy with the gypsy, Ludovigo decided to go take a better look at the scene. So he went outside and gazed at the roof and the commotion below. He was wondering why this happened… It probably wasn’t a stealing attempt but almost certainly a murder attempt… but on who? The kid who fell down or was the young boy the assassin who would have failed and his gun or whatever exploded in his face by some lack of experience? Maybe he was a decoy while the real crime was happening now…
Ludovigo thought that maybe he should observe how the Vatican guards worked… in case he needed to go to the Vatican one day… How competent were they? So he started to discretely observe Chesire from afar. From the first observation , he seemed competent, calm and knowing what to do. But the wrath of him? How frightening could this officer be? Somehow it seemed amusing to know…

Vanessa, unknown to the situation. Told RayLeonardo to stay inside as she went to go check on both Viola and Chesire. Sure Chesire can handle himself. But Viola is her adopted daughter, so its natural to become worried when something has happened right? "Stay in here and do not move. We will finish this talk later young man." The witch said with a commanding tone. Doing the best thing in the situation, he listened. Since he was unarmed and without a lance.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Chesire takes a quick look around the area. Every civilian around the area is near the scene. Chesire takes action and gets a soldier's attention. The soldier, a new recruit. Walked over to Chesire knowing that the captain needed something. "Yes sir?" He asked with a confident yet nervous voice. "Get these civilians out of here. Get the archers and Arquebusiers that were up on the roofs and have them report to me about the situation." The stoic captain said in a low tone so no one would hear the talk. As rouges would love to get the information out of the captain for easy loot about him.

The old man comes up to the man ordering around the men and then whispering to a nearby man "sir....sir did you see the captain just now we found someone who was atop the roof we think when the roof blew the boy was blasted off the roof and saved by a wayward shop stall tarp..." The old man looked at Chesire "My...my wife took him to the clinic to patch him up...the boy was still alive though just some scrapes and bruises.."
K'an slept soundly now as he was bandaged up the hairless Egyptian boys stomach finally became active bandaged up in the places that needed bandaging the boys stomach growled waking him up. The small young man sat up wincing as his body hurt still and looked around he quickly checked his pants which had been replaced by a pair of slacks, and the letter no where to be found he began to look around for it.
The boy almost looked panicked as he couldn't see the letter the key around his neck was still there but it seemed that what he cared about most was the letter. The clinic owners wife cleared her throat bringing in food the boys stomach growling the old woman laid the tray on the counter beside her. "That scrap of parchment your looking for is over there with the rest of your stuff" She said as she pointed to the bow and quiver with the letter tucked into the quiver.
K'an sighs calmly and the smell of food overwhelming him as he begins to eat the boy taking no time to chew. The food filling his stomach as he stuffed his face he cringes a bit as his body still hurt. "You were blown of a chaple roof when it exploded...what were you doing up there..and what happened..."
The boy tried to open his mouth to speak but he felt it would be rood to speak while eating so he swallows. "Was...retrieving letter...flew out of hand... went to get...it.." His English very broken and his accent getting in the way of most of it. Anyone who wasnt familiar with the Egyptian accent would be unable to decipher most of it with how inexperienced most of his English was.
The old woman was not one of them she barely made out most of it "Well what ever the reasons my husband went to fetch the guard captain maybe he could get some sense out of this mess." The boy finished eating and the tray was taken.

As she ran into the streets of the city, Viola had the feeling this really was not a normal attack. Some strong magic, something ancient was involved. But she didn’t know what.
Feeling confused in her search, she retreated into some discreet corner and then not only touching her wrapped orb, she unwrapped it and gazed into it. It had been such a while snce she didn't use it… She was almost feeling lost without it. Somehow that orb and Vanessa were her family now.
As the orb floated between Viola's hands, the light reflected on the backstreet’s walls yet hopefully nobody noticed the strange lighting. But after a while of gazing, some scary visions then appeared to the seer. Viola suddenly knew that this boy was in grave danger yet she couldn’t see much more since it was still day and she was seeing better with the moon.
The white haired girl decided to go back to the house where the boy was taken so she wrapped her orb once more and left the backstreet. She had to protect him from the danger she saw…
As she ran back Viola also wondered what Chesire would do to that boy, what if he was accused? Of theft or murder or anything? Chesire would be forced to interrogate him, arrest him and obey the higher autorities who would decide the boy's fate… She saw nothing about it in her orb… Did it mean it would not happen or just that she didn't see it?
Still looking from afar, Ludovigo couldn’t understand what the captain was telling his soldier. It was annoying… What happened to the kid? Where did they took him? Then the old man who seemed to have taken care of the boy at first came to whisper something to the guards. Everything was secret, it was both annoying and intriguing…
Ludovigo still wondered what to do. If he came closer, he would be seen as a suspect since everybody were ‘mistaking’ him for a thief… But then he also had nothing to gain to come closer. He already saw a lot of law officers working and he wasn’t even certain he would steal one day from the Vatican. So maybe it was futile… But the case seemed interesting… but was it worth it? The Italian man didn’t know what to do so he did what he was doing in time of confusion and asked himself: What would the boss do?
Lord D would ask himself the first questions: Where and how could I gain something from this? How can a kid falling from a roof help gain something? The kid is no ordinary kid… He would not be on the roof for nothing… Guilty or victim but he had something to do there… On the roof of some Vatican chapel it probably was important… Maybe he was trying to get in to steal and got caught but maybe he was also getting out, with some treasure… and suddenly got caught by some guard. Or betrayed…
Hum… I can’t think much better than this… I’m no genius like Lord D… The boss would probably already have found some plan… But I guess I have to follow the kid and not the guards… But then… I have no idea what to do more… I also should not forget signore Sarosi… I hope he will tell me what he decided to do with the gypsies if I’m gone for a while… But maybe I should also act fast or else the guards will be around the kid and I won’t be able to do anything…
Ludovigo discreetly went away in some street to reach the street he saw the kid being taken to, then the guards wouldn’t notice he went there since it was a different path. Beside in the slight chance that someone cared, like the captain who looked at him distrustfully when they met, maybe he will think he was going to the market or whatever he asked sooner… He’ll find what to do more on the way there. But since the house was near as he learned from some witness, Ludovigo arrived at the clinic quicker than he thought, in both sense since he didn’t have time to think of anything else to do.
Huh… I’ll never have time to learn what he did and if he got a treasure with him before the guards arrives… Maybe I better go in the backward in case he tried to flee the authorities or something… Then I’ll get him and if the guards come I’ll easily leave. Maybe I should not take too much risk for something I don’t even know anything about…

Chesire smiles and gives a small nod to the humble old man. "Thank you. I understand. When he comes to, I will question him." The captain says in a tone that will make people question. Will he put him away or not? He needs details before anyone can lock up anyone. Since the captain is not like most corrupt people and just throw them in jail with no reason.

As the boy slept a little more he decided that it wasnt good on his masters promise to laze about while the letter was still left undelivered. He got carefully out of bed wincing a bit "achaaa to hurt to hurt oww." He was used to being struck as a slave but didn't mean the pain felt any better from any angle. He looks around the place and went over to his stuff the pants the clinic had provided were a little tighter then he liked and hard to move in though with the pain he was in it didn't matter.
The old man nodded to the man he had let know of the boys possible involvement with the current goings on. He walked back home and noticed that there were alot of people making their way towards his home many still making accusations the soldiers were trying to get things under control the best they could but this sort of thing didnt happen often and it was no surprise the people wanted answers.
Over above the sky flying in from the East was a silver feathered Eagle it flew in and spotted the looks of a girl moving towards the clinic and it lands on the sign of the clinic to carefully watch the way the girl would be coming. The bird seemingly waiting for the time to fly in and land on the woman's shoulder once she was near the bird seemed to know something and seemed to be waiting to let her know.

Leaning on the backward fence wall, Ludovigo was waiting. He was wondering if he was wrong to come here.
"Hum… I guess I can’t take care of many cases at the same time… Mostly when I don’t even know what I’m doing… Maybe I should go back to Ray… huh… Signore Sarosi."
He still wondered if he should keep calling him signore Sarosi since they seemed to be more friendly now but he probably had to keep polite with a Hungarian nobleman… Yet now was not the time to wonder about etiquette he had something else to do. Maybe. He was still wondering about it.
Hearing the people in front of the house, making accusations on the boy and all, he suddenly wondered if they would come here as well. It was less easy since they had to climb the high fence after getting into someone else’s backward as well, what he easily did, but most were not as trained as him or as cheeky as him as mostly stayed in front of the house yet it was possible for many anyway. But it also meant that if the crowd was getting agitated, the kid could very well panic and try to flee from them.
Viola finally arrived to the clinic and suddenly noticed the silver feathered eagle resting on the sign of the clinic while many people were in front of it, speaking about the event while guards were coming farther. It seemed Chesire would take care of the events… and protect the boy from harm for now…
Even if he was almost Vanessa’s ‘brother-in-law’, Viola wasn’t sure if the Vatican captain would let her in to speak with the boy, he seemed somehow professional in his work and may not let any young girl come inside, even if she was the adopted daughter of his sister-in-law… the crowd would not be happy about that privilege she would get either…
But anyway the white-haired girl was mostly caught up by the bird; he seemed special. Viola wondered if eagles were normally living in Italy yet she knew that even if they did, that one was more than an ordinary eagle. And it seemed to be especially staring at her with its piercing gaze.
The young seer stopped and gazed back at the bird waiting to see what it wanted. Maybe it wanted her to get someplace quieter to meet her… She didn’t feel threatened by it so, looking around, she noticed a small alley and looking once more at the bird to let it know that she understood what it wanted, she withdrew into the discreet alley farther from the commotion. The bird will probably follow her.
