RayLeonardo arrived at the grand city of Rome on horseback. It was almost Dawn when he arrived, surprised at how fast the horse was considering that a nice farmer gave it to him. He offered what little money he had and the man was nice enough to take that. It was quite a magnificent black steed with a white mane, and a small white cursive mark on its cheek.
"Im sorry boy, but I needed you to get me here as fast as you could." He stopped near the entrance of town and dismounted. He took a a minute or to stretch. "Jeez...I forgot how sore you get when riding a horse." He turned toward his horse and hugged its neck. "Thanks for pushing yourself, I promise to get some apple's for you." He looked into the marble black eyes of the horse. :I havent given you a name have I? How about...Sleipnir? Like Odin's horse?" The horse seemed to understand and nodded. "Alright Sleipnir it is then."
As he came into the grand city, He searched for any port or way lf transportation across the Mediterranean Sea.
"Come, on boy." He stroked the steed's mane and took him by the reins into town center.

"Now where do you think is a good place, Sleipnir."
He spoke to the horse, not really expecting a reply rather just making mock conversation.
He eventually found himself at a Tavern of sorts, best place for information when not familiar with the area, at least in his experience. He hung the reins of his horse on a firm wooden shaft for holding the horses of travelers.
"I'll be back, boy."
As he walked in, noticed it wasnt as dirty and shady as the others he went to, unexpected of main cities. "Guess it's cuz Rome is the center of Catholicism in Europe."

Unfortunately from what he's heard, RayLeonardo would not be able to reach Cairo by the Mediterranean Sea. It was a mix of Pagan and Catholic tension, as well as rumors of Cervantes that caused a simple trip to be not possible.
"Well Sleipnir, we're just gonna have to go around...it could take at least a week to cross Europe and the Middle East, and another week just to get to Egypt circling back, and that's only if we're lucky perhaps."
RayLeonardo sighed and gave his horses mane a gentle stroke.
"Well I won't push you that much boy, we'll just take as much time as we can, let's go, maybe we can 'graze' some food from the locals."
The horse almost had a disagreeable expression when the boy said that.
"Yeah I know it's not very chivalrous, but I don't have Any more coin. Well...Maybe we can just beg then I suppose."
As he left to leave, he heard a voice speak to him.
"You are looking for your destiny in Egypt are you?"
He turned to see a women with skin slightly darker then him, she had long black wavy hair and was wearing a ragged cloak that cover her body from her neck to her feet.
"Yes, who are you?"
"Come. Follow me."
He was a little suspicious but he felt that any chance of getting to Egypt as quickly as he could, can mean finding Claire much faster.
RayLeonardo followed her to a small alley way where she touched a loose stone that opened to a secret tunnel.
"It's best not to speak in the open."
"Uhh...I see."
His suspicions grew but he was confident he could handle whatever thugs stood in his way, they entered, with The spearman leading his horse, and the wall closed behind him but the area was still lit with a faint green light. "What's lighting this place." He asked
"A rare Form of fire-flies, they live in parts of this tunnel because it has what they need to survive, it has their nests. They always have a glow even when asleep, and we keep them here to act as our natural source of light. It's quite beautiful isn't it?"
RayLeonardo agreed, as they walked down the tunnel which took them below the city, he could see the many fireflies asleep in small holes of the earth around them, and their was small vegetation around them that he guessed was their choice of food, also it seemed to grow naturally because of the moisture of the tunnel and the light of the flies.
"It's intresting cycle these fireflies go through. They eat the food and its low green light helps the plants glow again, almost like its magic."
As he followed her through the tunnel he pressed her for answers.
"So now can you tell me who you are ma'am."
"Ma'am? Well now, I don't think I'm quite that old yet." She said with a chuckle.
"My name is Clea, I guess you can say I'm...sympathetic to your calling."
"Is that all?"
"Well, and perhaps you don't seem to fit in with the Europeans just like I do."
At first he didn't understand but then he remembered his blood line, and what he use to be mistaken for.
"...you're a gypsy aren't you?"
"Is that a problem, I'd expect a less pointed answer towards us."
"No, I have nothing against you and you're people. I'm just surprised that you live so close to the center if the people that despise you. And by despise I mean, hunt you down. I heard most of you settle in France, farther away."
"Don't you think the place they'd least expect to find you, is right where your closest to them."
"I guess that makes sense."
"Aren't you a gypsy too ummm..."
"Oh I'm sorry! How rude of me, I'm RayLeonardo."
She looked back and smiled at him. "You don't have to apologize, however I think I'll call you Ray."
"That's fine, I usually am called that for short anyway, and to answer your question, no I'm half Egyptian."
"Don't you know we lie from different parts of there originally."
"I'm also of royal European blood."
"Ahh... I see. You do seen to carry yourself like a European as well as a Gypsy."
"How so?"
"You have a sort of noble likeness to you, without being being overly zealous like most "holy" knights."
She stopped and turned to him.
"Yet you carry our free-spirited nature, almost a dreamer."
"Well...thanks I suppose."
"However you have one Eurpopean flaw."
"What?"
Clea held up his empty money bag with a small grin.
"You're easily tricked."
"What the-!? How did you-"
"I'm a gypsy, remember? Don't worry I wasn't going to steal anything...well there wasn't anything to really steal."
"So then why?"
"Just testing you." She said playfully.
"I'm getting mixed feelings about this now."
Eventually they reached the end of the tunnel.

The end of the tunnel was home to a large cavern of other gypsies other than Clea. RayLeonardo held a tight grip on the horse reigns and his spear.
"Don't worry." Clea said "I won't let them steal from you." She said trying to reassure him. "I still have doubts of the nature of this generosity you're extending to me." "Oh I'm hurt sir Ray, you don't trust me?" "I just met you Clea." "And look how well we got to know each other." She giggled and took him to a tent big enough to fit a dozen people. "This is my home, as well as my fortune telling shop." "I don't have money for that remember?" "This one is on the house." She opened the flap of the tent and with her index finger, beckoned him inside. "Come in, sir Ray."

RayLeonardo entered the gypsy girls tent and she beckoned him sit on a small cushion in a circle of cushions. "Why am I here?"
Clea ignored him as she was busy getting something from the back. He was already annoyed from her dodging his questions previously. Clea returned carrying a crystal ball in her hand, as she sat on the cushion across from him.
"Isn't it obvious young Ray?"
"Listen, I need to get through the sea, not a palm reading."
"Patience."
RayLeonardo sighed, he was getting really frustrated.
"Tell me RayLeonardo, do you believe that the world is more than it seems?"
"How do you mean?"
She held up her crystal ball with one hand for the young man to see.
"If you see this ball, you know it exists, correct?"
"Yeah I suppose." He said rather confused of the meaning behind such an obvious question.
"Then what if..."
She waved her free hand around the orb, veiling it from Ray, and when she lifted he hand, the orb was gone.
"It wasn't really there?"
"How did you-?"
"The world is more than what it seems, what we see is not always what we get."
"That's just a trick of the eye though."
"You're right."
She pulled the orb from the cushion next to her.
"That was a sleight of hands in action."
"What is your point."
"It was a mere example of things that are and are not there. Just because you can see it, doesn't mean it truly exists. The mind is powerful, yet uncontrollable. It shows us what it thinks is necessary, even if its not true."
"You lost me there." He shook his head at Clea, he wasn't getting what she was trying to tell him.
"In other words: what is an illusion, and what is truly really?"
"Well...if I can feel it, it must also be true."
"The mind controls the senses, what we sense is at the mercy of the mind."
"Why would I lie to myself?"
"Perhaps it's a part of you deep inside."
"That still doesn't answer my question."
"When we do something we are ashamed of, a part of us may hide it, punish us, maybe they will do both. Perhaps when something that the senses can't handle, that overwhelms the mind, is repressed. We live in a tolerable world because we choose to wrap away what we couldn't handle."
"Perhaps it's for the better to forget what we can't handle." RayLeonardo spoke up.
"Is it?"
"Well, obviously it's gone. If its thrown away from us it must be for a reason."
"What if it never left us?"
"You just said-"
Clea put up her index finger to signal the young man to let her finish.
"I never said it would be gone forever, I said it would be wrapped up. You cannot simply forget completely, the soul is eternal, and all it retains. What was too much is just hidden, under the surface."
"What's to stop it from re-surfacing then."
Clea smiled at him and handed him the crystal orb.
"Exactly Ray. Who's to say that it cannot simply reappear."
RayLeonardo looked into the orb and at first just saw the obsidian black surface of the orb. After a minute, like lightning coming and going, an image of Claire appeared in a flash and surprised Ray.
"Whoa!
He instinctively let go of the orb like it was a molten hot rock, and before it hit the ground Clea grabbed it and put it on her lap.
"What the hell is that?"
"I do not merely tell fortunes, young Ray. This orb, with the right conditions, can show what is true that you have forgotten. There is no lie that can hide from the Eye of Ra."
"Eye of Ra? The Egyptian sun god?"
She nodded her head and placed her hand on the orb.
"Yes. It was a divine relic for skyring. However it did not give clairvoyance of the land or watch over the vastness of the earth. It looked into something deeper...the soul of the one who carries it."
"What does this have to do with getting me to Egypt?" RayLeonardo returned to the original reason for being here, and she answered by giving the orb to him.
"Take it." She said to him.
"What?"
"The orb will be a guide for you, son of Egypt."
"Clea, the orb-"
"This is yours, Young RayLeonardo. You wished to know your destiny, you seek your path, so you have chosen to carry it."
"Why?"
"It only calls out to the ones who truly need it, who want to know the truth. It will stay with you, until all the veils of lies, both in your path and in your mind, have been brought to light." She handed him a bag with some supplies in it.
"Now you only must worry about finding your way home."
"How?"
"Reveal what is true, remember what was lost to you, and you will find you're way home."
"With the orb?"
She nodded her head.
"Thank you for your help Clea, I will use it to help me."
He took everything and started out of the tent.
"However..."
Clea's voice from behind him, stop the young man in his tracks.
"Make sure this is what you want to do. The orb may reveal...what you hid away...even the terrible things. Once you step outside, the orb will know you as it's carrier, and there will be no turning back."
He stood there near the way out of the tent in silence and finally he said: "Come what may, I have to do this."
"Then fare thee well, sir Ray."
And he left, with the weight of his destiny lying in the obsidian orb he now carried. One he must carry until the end.

RayLeonardo left with the orb and could only wonder why the needed this thing called the Eye of Ra. "Exactly how does this thing get me to Egypt?" He looked at it trying to determine what he this thing was going to do. Can it take me to where Im destined to go?
As soon as he said that, the orb made a sound a like thunder, that deafened the young man's ears. and flashed with a blinding light. The next thing he knows, he sees and hears mulitiple images and sounds, voices, surreal and distorted memories. Every once in awhile he would see an image of some ruins, they seemed like a forgotten city in the desert. The reeling of images and sounds increased rapidly and became louder. Until it stopped suddenly, and it was all black, and RayLeonardo was gone.

After having left the Doge's kingdom, Setsuka was now wandering around in the great city of Rome. She had decided to go search for someone who would know about Soul Edge and thought that this great city may have some hints on where to look since as the saying says : Every roads lead to Rome so there must be someone who has been lead here who knows about Soul Edge.
But she had first bought some European clothes to go more unnoticed. Yet with her strong Japanese accent, each time she spoke, people were asking her from where she was from. But at least when she wasn’t speaking, she looked like any normal woman even thought most women here had darker hair but some were blond so she didn’t really need to dye her hair.
In the city, she also decided to ask about the kingdoms around, just in curiosity she said but she wanted to know what they knew about that evil Doge’s kingdom. What she heard was many rumours so she didn’t really know what was real or not. But from what she heard it did confirm what the man she saved had told her: The Doge was a tyrant abusing his people. Yet the having malfested monsters part didn’t seem to be known around here…
And the Soul Edge part…
In the evening, Setsuka went in some tavern beginning to ask people about Soul Edge and someone who would know much about it to be able to confront it. The blonde Japanese thought people would be more talkative with alcohol and they would speak more freely about Soul Edge.
But she had to slap and push some out of her way since they were not only more talkative but more cheeky and coarse as well and were acting not very gentlemanly with that beautiful lone lady coming to the bar. But after she got rid of the most annoying ones, she found some men more polite than the others and began to talk to them.
She then learned from one of them about the famous weapon merchant Vercci. Dead since many years but no one could talk about weapons without putting his name in the conversation. Mostly if it included Soul Edge. The man explaining this was speaking with excitement, showing he was not indifferent to Vercci’s legend.
"Soul Edge is a legendary sword and Vercci who was a famous weapon collector, became crazy with that magical relic, he searched all over the world for it and died after hiding all his treasures in a secret place called the Money Pit. He had a great fortune, many treasures! And Soul Edge that he finally acquired!"
The man stopped a while to let everyone gasp at the marvelous treasures.
"But this place where he hid his fortune, and Soul Edge. Well, this place, is secret, hidden from everyone and those who found it never came back since they fell into the many deadly traps, they got eaten by the many monsters he left around or even have been killed by his own ghost! No one ever came back from there!"
"Forgive me for asking but how do you know what was there if no one ever came back? Some survived then?" asked Setsuka.
"Well… some did… I think…Maybe…"
The man was embarrassed with his story but continued.
"Well the fact is that almost everybody who went there never came back and Vercchi’s vault is a heaven of treasures!"
Setsuka thought it was interesting as a story but she didn’t really want to go there since she wanted to find people who knew about Soul Edge not a dead man with many treasures who probably didn’t even have Soul Edge. And even if he had it, she had enough trouble with one who had malfested on his side... She asked the man about Soul Edge's bane:
"And what do you know about Soul Calibur?"
"Soul Calibur? What's that? But if it's a weapon, Vercci probably has it."

Rock had been traveling for days now, having deduced that the best thing to do would be to go to the heart of Italy for more information. Nevertheless, the journey from the northern part of the country had tired him considerable. It was now getting late, and though he had never been one for alcohol he was in need of a drink. He entered the next tavern he saw, scanning the room and feeling strangely at ease with the drunk, urban atmosphere, which was a large change to what he was used to.
He made his way to the counter and ordered an ale. While he was waiting, however, he overheard a particularly interesting conversation.
"...this place where he hid his fortune, and Soul Edge..."
Rock stared straight ahead, not wanting to seem rude, but kept his ears open. A man and a woman were conversing about Soul Edge...?
"...well, this place, is secret, hidden from everyone and those who found it never came back since they fell into the many deadly traps, they got eaten by the many monsters he left around or even have been killed by his own ghost! No one ever came back from there!"
"Forgive me for asking but how do you know what was there if no one ever came back? Some survived then?"
"Well… some did… I think…Maybe…"
"Well the fact is that almost everybody who went there never came back and Vercci’s vault is a heaven of treasures!"
Vercci? Who was-?
"And what do you know about Soul Calibur?"
Rock gasped inaudibly.
"Soul Calibur? What's that? But if it's a weapon, Vercci probably has it."
So the man did not know. Rock glanced beside him, laying eyes on the couple seated a few metres away. The woman asking the questions was pretty, and Rock vaguely wondered why she wanted to know about the swords. Nevertheless, if she shared a similar goal, perhaps she could serve as an ally?
Rock picked up the drink that had been served without him noticing and slowly made his way over to the two people, clearing his throat slightly.
'Do excuse me for intruding, but I couldn't help overhear your conversation...'
He addressed the woman, holding out a hand. 'I am Rock,' he said, 'and I have a little information that you may find useful...'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8c207Sbit1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

'Do excuse me for intruding, but I couldn't help overhear your conversation...'
Setsuka lifted her head toward the man who adressed them : It was a large warrior dressed in animal fur and leather. He did not seem to come from Rome or Italy. He presented himself as he held out his hand and said:
'I am Rock, and I have a little information that you may find useful...'
Setsuka looked pleased by the newcomer’s offer and smiled before she held out her hand to him. She wasn’t used with the western ways of greeting and thought it must be for shaking hands not kiss her hand as she had also seen people do, so she prepared to shake hands.
Anyway with his strange clothe, the man seemed not from here as well and may not mind her ignorance at some customs. He must be a traveller so he must know much about the swords, maybe he was the one she was looking for to fight that doge thought Setsuka.
"Well, come and sit please. It is a pleasure to meet you, mister Rock. I am Setsuka."
The man looked at Rock and smiled to him, waiting as well to know what he had to say.

"Well, come and sit please. It is a pleasure to meet you, mister Rock. I am Setsuka."
Rock took a seat. '"Setsuka"', he repeated, 'pleasure.'
Setsuka... He wondered where she was from. Certainly not from here, for the name did not sound Italian. Nevertheless, he thought it rude to ask, so he got on with the task at hand.
'I do not know how familiar you are with either sword, but a while ago I had the... misfortune of coming across Soul Edge himself. I am sure you have heard by now that the two of them have taken on human forms. Originally it was my aim to find him in order to help search for my son, however it seems as though he is now hunting children for his own use. He is powerful, more powerful than you would imagine, and I barely escaped with my life. That was back in Ostrheinsburg.
'I now seek Soul Calibur, however I was told that the Spirit Sword herself is just as bad. Though it is assumed that she is, in effect, 'pure', according to the wind priestess with whom I spoke she does not have the power to heal or purify, only to destroy people or things with evil energy inside them. She has a strong will of her own and apparently can manipulate people, too, and though she is Soul Edge's counterpart, she is just as destructive as he is. Their powers come from the same origin, even though they may be opposite.'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8c207Sbit1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

'I do not know how familiar you are with either sword, but a while ago I had the... misfortune of coming across Soul Edge himself.' Setsuka and the other man’s attention was now completely caught. That man really knew about Soul Edge… Setsuka wondered with some worries : Misfortune… Has he been malfested? She knew how it felt to be malfested since she had been for a small while and worried for that man who didn’t seem evil. But the man continued speaking.
'I am sure you have heard by now that the two of them have taken on human forms.'
"Taken human form? Then they must have gotten out of Vercci’s vault…" muttered the other man in wonder.
'Originally it was my aim to find him in order to help search for my son...'
"Your son?"
Setsuka looked at him with worries. It must be horrible to have lost a child… but her face changed to one of alarm when she heard about the rest.
'However it seems as though he is now hunting children for his own use. He is powerful, more powerful than you would imagine, and I barely escaped with my life. That was back in Ostrheinsburg.'
"Ostrheinsburg… Oh that cursed place…" said the man who had slightly heard about it and just the mention and how the story was going made him all troubled. He excused himself and left. Beside he had to go back to work. Yet maybe the new man was telling anything… Human forms… Why would the swords do that? How could they? Rock continued speaking and still had Setsuka’s attention.
Their powers come from the same origin, even though they may be opposite.'
"Yes… about Soul Calibur I also heard some stories about it… She is very dedicated to destroy evil, even to the point of destroying anyone opposing her… But I think she may be of help anyway even if she indeed may become very dangerous. She does have the good intentions of keeping order… Only in a too… fanatical way… Beside who may beat Soul Edge but her?"
But she was still worried about Rock’s trouble.
"But you… you lost your child? It must be horrible… How did you… lose him? Does it have anything to do with Soul Edge? I could help you find him… Has he been abducted? I know a man who seems to tyranize people not far from here… I was looking for someone who knew about malfested and Soul Edge since I came across a ruler who seems to use malfested in his army and seems to hold monsters in his dongeons and hold young girls for his pleasure. He seems to rule very cruelly and was about to execute some young men since they did not want to become his soldiers. Maybe he captured your son… But how did your son disappeared? Did you follow his trace here? I came from Japan to destroy Soul Edge. However I have no family anymore, no ties to anything. So I can help you in finding your son, if you wish. "
Since Soul Edge seemed to be after children and that Doge seemed to be malfested or at least using malfested, he may provide the evil sword with children… Setsuka really thought that Soul Edge had to be stopped. To capture children was so horrible!

Rock's eyes widened at the offer. Did she really want to help him?!
'His name is Bangoo. He has not... disappeared, exactly. He came of age last year and set sail back to the New World from Northern Europe as a rite of passage... but he is still young, and given the recent events involving Soul Edge's hunt for children I am worried about him. He may be the next victim, who knows? It would be easy for him to walk right into the sword's clutches.'
He looked at her. 'Your offer is generous, indeed, and I thank you. Perhaps we could aid each other in our quests. You seek to destroy Soul Edge, as do I, and I am in need of an ally... and you are right, who else is there to destroy Soul Edge but Soul Calibur?'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8c207Sbit1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

Setsuka thought for a while.
"Bangoo... I have not heard that name in my travels... But, as you said, isn't he supposed to be in the New world right now? Or did he came back to find you? If he came back, I do wonder if he would be in that Doge's kingdom... That man really seems to have ties with Soul Edge... Of course maybe he is not, but I wonder if we should go check it out... Wherever Soul Edge is, your son may be if that evil entity is after him..."

'Indeed, he is supposed to have reached the New World... yet I still worry. Soul Edge will go to any length to get what he wants... the Spirit Sword is my only means of comfort at the moment.'
Setsuka nodded. Indeed it was hard to see another solution though as she had been warned and Rock had been as well, they should also be careful with Soul Calibur but it seemed it was the only one strong enough to beat Soul Edge...
"I have received help and much advices from a very powerful wiseman named Edgemaster. He lives in China and he knows much about the swords. He can even purify malfested."
After a small pause, thinking about her encounter with Edgemaster, Setsuka continued.
"Who is the wind priestess you were talking about? There seems to be many people knowing about the Soul swords... Together maybe they, we, could do much..."
Yet this was not already so Setsuka returned to the present.
"But for now, about your son, we should try to get some hints and I still think we should go take a look at the Doge's kingdom. The place seems too strange and evil to not be influenced by Soul Edge. So you say you were in Osthreinburg when Soul Edge made you understand he would capture your son? So you didn't see him there... We should really try to see all places implying Soul Edge... Or maybe also ports... If he came from the New world... What do you think mister Rock?"
