Name:
Berach Eamonn Liathain
Age:
21
Gender:
Male
Fighting Style:
Mór Gaiscíoch
Weapon:
The Claidheamh da Laimh is an Irish two-handed sword inspired by claymores of Scotland and the zweihanders of Germany. More reminiscent of a bastard sword and longswords than any actual giant sword, the Claidheamh da Laimh boasts a blade about 110 cm long and a two-handed grip layered enough for swapping between one-handed or two-handed fighting with ease. It is a rough and raw sword, boasting neither the brilliant artistic craftsmanship of Japanese smiths or the superior ingredients of European resources, but it is sharp, durable, and very vicious in the right hands.
Appearance-wise, it's very clear that it was hand-made and seen many battles. The hilt is hand-worked and well-worn, and the blade and guard have been scratched and chipped despite obsessive cleaning and sharpening. Its most notable feature, however, is what is very obviously a personal touch by Berach--the blade of the sword is completely black.
Weapon Name:
Ciunas
Place of Birth:
Focluth, Ireland
Appearance:
In many ways, Berach reflects the image of a classic barbarian. A large, broad mountain of a man, with layers of muscles across every limb, and surprisingly pale skin. His body is scarred and battered, having seen years of hard work and battles. He has grey hair despite his youth, swept backwards to behind, and has bright green eyes with an eyepatch over the right.
What clothing he typically wears is usually scant, restricted to primarily a few scraps of cloth and armor. His primary outfit is a green loincloth and a green cape, a large metal gladiator's belt with a skull in front, belts strapped across the chest, metallic shoulderpads with fur underneath, a hollowed-out wolf's head with horns atop the head for a helmet, and horned bones acting as gauntlets and greaves.
Alliance:
JUSTICE.
Personality:
Far from being the typical boorish barbarian, Berach is polite and measured in his demeanor, more intent on thinking about things than charging in with weapons swinging. He is hardly stoic--his quiet usually comes from an enjoyment of thinking about various things, even if they're not all that important.
Background/History:
A man always seeks new challenges to overcome and conquer.
A man always treats a lady with respect and integrity.
A man always uses his life not for himself, but for others.
This was a code of honor drilled into every young druid in the circle of Focluth.
With only this code in mind, at the age of 16 Berach quietly left his druid circle in order to explore the world and see what existed outside of the forests where he was raised. All throughout his life, he had grown familiar with only trees, animals, and rivers; surely, there had to be so much more to the world.
Of course, there was. Civilizations, kingdoms, different cultures, technology, the arts--everything came in a sudden blur. It was both overwhelming and amazing, encountering so many walks and facets of life that he had never known. Even with nature, there were wonders all across the world that defied explanation, far more than his own forest could have ever held.
It's been five years since Berach set out to see what the world had, and he has learned much...but there's always plenty more to learn. He now carries a bag of books with him wherever he goes, reading and sketching whenever he can. He has also found a new purpose in life: fighting not just for the earth, but to protect these wonders of knowledge.
Relations:
None, his circle has since cut off all ties with him. They're kind of dicks.
