Sophitia Alexandra: a woman with a heart of a mother, yet the will of a warrior... Sophitia is a kind-hearted, affectionate woman, who thinks not of herself and only for the wellbeing of her family. She strives to protect her family, and to save her lost daughter, Pyrrha, who had gone missing three years ago to the woman with the ring blade...
Once a mother, now a Holy Warrior...
Sophitia Alexandra, exactly ten years ago, was a beautiful young woman known by many as the 'Baker's Daughter'. Being eighteen, Sophitia sought her guidance with a being one other than her family...
The young Grecian visited the shrine located at the pinnacle of the tallest hill in Athens: Eurydice Shrine. Each and every day, she would pray for her family's wellbeing, and never for her own.
One, seemingly uneventful morning, Sophitia was bathing in a hot spring, when the god of forge and fire, Hephaestus, appeared before her in the form of a colossal statue, stating that she had been given a task by the gods to destroy of a demonic sword in which rested in the west. Due to Sophitia's devotion to the gods, Hephaestus fully trusted her to destroy Soul Edge on behalf of him. At first, Sophitia declined, in the thought that she was merely a young, foolish woman, who was incapable of fighting, and lacked any weapons.
Hephaestus then forged Sophitia's weapons in resolution of her problem: a small, rounded shield, bearing the symbol 'Elk', along with a short, broad sword, engraved with the language of the gods, acting as a blessing to the young Grecian woman.
The god's faith in Sophitia had reassured her to press forward to carry out her mission: to destroy the sword in the name of 'Soul Edge'...
Sophitia travelled westward in search of the demonic sword, and by the guidance of Hephaestus, had soon arrived at Valencia Port, Spain. Upon arrival, she had encountered what appeared to be a pirate, wielding two swords, one longer than the other, the hilts flesh like, binding itself to the blade...
This pirate was Cervantes de Leon...
Sophitia, after whispering a short prayer to the gods for her protection, had bested Cervantes, shattering the smaller of the swords, only to find that a shard had been embedded into her from the impact...
This shard, the shard of Soul Edge, will change her path through history...
After being wounded by the demonic sword, Sophitia collapsed, and only caught a glimpse of the person who had taken over to defeat Cervantes on her behalf. A woman clad in red, her hair tied in a ponytail, and donning a black mask over her lips...
To many, Sophitia had achieved a tremendous feat in defeating one half of Soul Edge. To her, she had failed her mission. Despite one half ceasing to exist, the other half still remained...
Sophitia had awoke, to realise that she had been returned home, her saviour vanishing without a trace, other than Sophitia's sister Cassandra, who had been tending for her since.
The elder sister immediately told Cassandra of her ventures, and her sister just as willingly believed her. Upon retelling the tale to the rest of her family however, Sophitia was dismissed as mental, and that chasing a non-existent sword was proven irrational, particularly since she had born wounds from the event.
Learning from her mistakes, and following her family's morale, Sophitia resumed her role as the Baker's Daughter once again, and led what seemed to be an ordinary life: she had fallen in love with the local blacksmith, Rothion, and had gotten married, giving birth to a daughter and a son, Pyrrha and Patroklos.
However, the curse in which she was afflicted with was soon to pass onto her children...
Sophitia's husband had come home one day, holding a mysterious metal shard in which a hooded customer had given to him. As soon as this shard entered the house, Pyrrha and Patroklos began to violently fight over the object, whilst the mother's old wounds began to burn in the presence of the shard.
Acknowledging that the safety of her family was yet to be secured, Sophitia took up her sword once again in search of Soul Edge. Down this path however, the Holy Warrior had encountered a woman, with blue hair, feather lined clothing and purple streaks running in zig-zags over her body. Around her wrist, she spun what appeared to be a shining hula hoop...
The young woman was quick to smile.. not one of an ally, however, one of a psychopath, a murderer, a killer... The green clad girl had warned Sophitia of the wellbeing of her children, merely through the fact that the girl with the ring blade wanted to 'play' with her children...
The mother swore a vow that very night... Sophitia must destroy Soul Edge, and prevent this girl from touching her children...
Alas, as much as Sophitia's put her heart and soul into finding Soul Edge, she was too late. She had news that a servant of the demonic sword had kidnapped her daughter, and Sophitia was quick to conclude that the girl with the ring blade was responsible.
Upon encountering Tira once again, Sophitia was manipulated... the girl with the ring blade had told her that in order for Pyrrha to survive, Soul Edge must be kept alive. Without Soul Edge, Pyrrha will cease to exist...
Acting on a mother's instinct, Sophitia agreed to assist Tira in defending all those who opposed the demonic sword, and thus, enslaved herself to Soul Edge in order for her daughter to be kept alive.
However, one event had struck her core... Soul Edge was destroyed, along with Soul Calibur... Tira's words resonated to Sophitia once again...
"She can't live without Soul Edge...!"
Sophitia fell into dispair, returning home, her heart shattered in her hands... the Holy Warrior genuinely believed that Pyrrha was gone... The Holy Warrior would not speak to anyone, refused to eat, and endured sleepless nights, until she finally came to a conclusion.
Pyrrha couldn't be dead. Sophitia felt it in her heart.
Without one more word, Sophitia left in search of her beloved daughter... For three years, Sophitia was on the hunt for Pyrrha, and the woman who had kidnapped her...
