After many days, Setsuka arrived to the Ling-Sheng Su temple. The place was indeed a ruin and emanated evil all around. Many will o’ the wisps where floating around and the place seemed quite eerie as a big mist was also invading the place.
From what she saw, Setsuka thought the place had been a nice place once, with a beautiful temple and many waterfalls around…
Now all really seemed dead. No animals were making sound, the water was still running but its normally quieting melody was not peaceful anymore and was as poetic as if someone was emptying a bucket.
“Maybe I’m really not in the good place… I should go… Maybe the evil energy around here is not good for me…”
Setsuka had also begun to feel feverish since some days now, she was feeling weak and she feared being less resistant to evil forces. So she looked around quickly before she would leave. She had to at least look into the temple…

Wait a minute... was Setsuka's illness making her see things? She soon sees an old man patrolling the ruined temple. He had a very great beard and ponytail and was garbed in white, blue, and steel, This man walked with confidence, not in the least bit bothered by the evils of the temple. However, the hermit detected Setsuka. He thought if she was it an intruder? On second thought, he decided she probably was not since she looked too confused to be one. He then approaches the woman. "Hello there, are you lost?"

As Setsuka was walking around, she noticed an old man. She got surprised by the sudden appearance. Was he a ghost? Of one of the dead monks?
But why would he be like this while the others must probably be the will’o the wisps floating around? He seemed out of place, he was not corrupted and dead like everything else around here… He even seemed quite in shape for an old man. He was tall and muscular…
As Setsuka was looking at him with a questioning gaze, the old man turned around, noticed her and began walking toward her.
"Hello there, are you lost?"
Setsuka was somehow surprised to be addressed and even if she came here to find someone, she was now surprised to actually see someone. She stayed mute for some second before she said:
“… I was looking for the monks of this temple… Are you a monk?”
Then remembering she should be polite, even more to elders, she bowed to him.
“I am sorry for my lack of manners. My name is Setsuka.”

He bows back to Setsuka, "Hello Setsuka, you can just call me Edge Master."
He returned to her previous question and stroked his 1000 year old beard. "I am indeed a monk, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say was." Upon further inspection, he can sense the evil energies hidden within her body, but her behavior suggests that she means no harm. He thinks it's better to start asking some questions. "Why are you looking for one? It must be very important if you came all the way out here."

"I am indeed a monk, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say was."
Was? Is he truly a ghost? Wondered Setsuka.
"Why are you looking for one? It must be very important if you came all the way out here."
Setsuka felt she should tell him everything. Even if she tried all along the way to ask questions about a way to get cured and about her reasons to go see those monks without talking about her own condition, she knew she should now. She came here for this reason, she won’t hide it anymore even though it was embarrassing to tell she may be malfested and he may react aggressively toward her, but how could she get help if she didn’t tell it? Beside he seemed wise and kind, there was an aura of calmness around him… “It is indeed Edgemaster. Some days ago, I met someone who was malfested and had killed everyone in the inn so we fought. He wounded me with his sword that looked like Soul Edge after he put some Soul Edge shard in it… I think I am malfested now. I can feel something inside of me, I am feverish and I feel strange. I was wondering if there was a cure. I heard about some great relics… and about the monks here who may be able to heal me… But I also heard… they didn’t exist anymore…”
Setsuka seemed embarrassed before she asked Edgemaster:
“… Forgive me for asking but… are you a ghost?”
Sometimes asking a ghost if he was dead caused the ghost to go crazy since he hasn’t noticed already he was dead. But Edgemaster said ‘He was’ so it must mean he knows of his condition… Setsuka really wondered about his state since he seemed so out of place… Yet maybe she should not have asked…

Edge Master listened her story, and he seemed genuinely intrigued by it. Plus, it seems like she was telling her the truth since she confirmed his earlier suspicions.
"Most of the monks are indeed gone. There are only a very few that are still alive, but they are no longer here as you can tell. The relics that you speak of are also no longer here. Fret naught though, for there is still hope for a cure."
When he heard Setsuka's question if he was a ghost, he let off a chuckle.
"No, no, not at all. I'm very much still alive."
What he meant by "was" was that since the temple no longer active, he used to be a monk that help run it. However, the comparison of a ghost is not too farfetched given that he's lived over thousands of years. However, he thinks that staying here too long will make Setsuka's malfestation even worse, so he quickly comes up with a suggestion.
"But right now, staying here is too dangerous. If you follow me, I'll take you to a safer place."

Setsuka was glad for the sugestion. She was indeed feeling bad here and it seemed to become even worst. She was feeling weaker then when she arrived and even more feverish.
That damned pirate! She would have to get her revenge on him... and maybe she could... take his Soul Edge shard... She could use it herself...
Setsuka suddenly came to her senses. She didn't want that shard! Except to destroy it...
Suddenly scared by her thoughts, she quickly followed the wise man, trying to forget the horrible headache that now annoyed her.

[avatar]http://www.unikgamer.com/characters/face/kilik-761.jpg[/avatar] After several days of travel, he arrived at the place. It was exactly as he had left it. The aura of evil, the dreary ambiance, the vagueness of the border between the world of the spirits and the world of mortal men. He could see these spirits appear and disappear all around him. His red metal bo staff, Kali Yuga, glowed as it detected the malevolence of its environment. However, as he searched the place, there was nobody.
There were no traces of living and mortal men here or nearby. He was about to brush his fingers through his hair in frustration when as he stopped he detected them...
Footsteps...
They left marks on the dusty stone floor. They appear to be recent. He followed them to the back exit of the temple. He knew now where his master was. He also knew that he came with someone.
A woman.
And so, Kilik started out to where he thought they were going to be.
