Berach shook his head. "Not at all, unfortunately."

Durante spoke in confusion. "The Treasures of Sing Sue what now?"
It's clear he has no idea what it is either.

Even Sophitia shook her head at the question.
'The Three Sacred Treasures of the Ling Sheng-Su Temple,' Elysium repeated, 'they consist of the Kali-Yuga, a staff, the Dvapara-Yuga, a mirror, and the Krita-Yuga... the sword to whom you are now speaking. The Kali-Yuga has the power to absorb both good and evil energy. The Dvapara-Yuga is able to purify that which has been corrupted.
'The current wielder of the Kali-Yuga is a warrior who goes by the Kilik, I believe. However it is full of evil energy, and has been ever since the Evil Seed pervaded through the sky and rained down upon the nation. As for the Dvapara-Yuga, the mirror was shattered during a battle between Kilik and the Azure Knight. I do not know the fragments' current whereabouts, but it is likely that Kilik holds a piece. When I disguised myself as the Krita-Yuga, I was wielded by a Chinese warrior named Chai Xiangfei, after being stolen from the temple by one of the monks there, Kong Xiuquiang. I was then handed down to their daughter, Xianghua. I am aware that she shared a close relationship with Kilik at one point, but I do not know if that still remains.'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

Durante crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.
"So... We use the Dvapara-Yuga to purify the energies of the Kali-Yuga and then use the staff to transfer that energy to you?"
He then rubs the chin of his helmet.
"Even then... where do we go finding these things? Especially if the mirror is broken."

'A man known only as Edge Master currently holds the shards, I believe - though how many I could not say. As for the Kali-Yuga... I would assume it is with its wielder, who was last seen in Asia, but even that I am unsure of...'[/size][avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

Durante sighs as he sits up from his chair again.
"I don't know how... useful the shards themselves will be. I won't be surprised if they are scattered all over the world which would be a pain to retrieve them all, let alone incredibly time consuming. Not to mention this wielder being last seen in Asia isn't particularly helpful given the size of the continent."
He pauses a bit to think of a new idea, but when he does, it doesn't exactly sound confident.
"What if... there was some other weapon or power out there that can beat Soul Edge, similar to how Sophitia's holy weapons were able to shatter part of Soul Edge."
He then points to his holy sword hanging off his back.
"Yea, I got this, but who knows how effective it would be. After all, more options is better. Maybe if we could find some legendary sword like Excalibur or something."
Little does he know, Soul Calibur itself is actually Excalibur.

At the mention of Durante's question of if there was a legendary sword in the vein of Excalibur, Berach's eye shone brightly. This was the exact same line of thinking that had brought him into Greece in the first place.
He pounded one hand down on the table and stood directly upwards. "One moment, please!" With that, he promptly sprinted off through the house, skidding on the floor as he dove up the stairs, veered over from one side to the other, avoided furniture and corners and went through sharp turns. His footsteps could be heard throughout the rest of the house as he (very audibly) went through his belongings, his armor, and his bag. Nary a minute later, the loud stomping continued as Berach sprinted back from his bag back down the stairs, through the halls, around the corners again, and back into the dining room. In his burly arms he held a gigantic pile of books, scrolls, and parchments, which he unceremoniously dumped on his section of the table.
"Okay, so! Everyone's familiar with the process of mythopoesis, right? ...No? Story becomes legend, legend becomes myth, etc? Okay, well, the very short of the matter is that every story has a small grain of truth behind it. Every story is based off an idea in the writer's head, often an experience or an emotion that they truly wanted to share...or, more relevant, actual historical happenings. There's all sorts of discussion now about whether or not King Arthur or Beowulf were real people! But their legends live on and inspire people even today--and often, they inspire the stories that people write."
He pointed down at the pile.
"What I've got here is every book, poem, or scribble I've picked up that talks about mystical swords or armors. Some are outright fantasy tales, others are dissertations or research-y things. All of them, however, talk about swords or armors of great and mighty power. If you give me about an hour or two, I can gather up a list of possible leads of armor or weapons for us to follow on, in order to expand on the power of the lovely lady."

Elysium looked at him. 'There have been some cases in which a legendary sword such as Excalibur is in fact myself in disguise. This is one of those cases - the similarity between the names must act as a hint, must it not?'
---
Then Sophitia spoke up. 'You said 'some' - does that mean there could be other powerful weapons out there other than you...?'
---
Elysium nodded. 'It does, yes. Of course, these weapons are unlikely to have a human form or a personality, but may hold great power nonetheless.'

'Sounds like the most promising idea we've had so far,' replied Sophitia.[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

After Elysium exposed herself as Excalibur's true form, Durante just paused before he spoke in a disappointed tone again.
"I'm guessing that you're also part of Excalibur's all powerful scabbard too."
Well, so much for that idea. As Elysium pointed out, there are other powerful swords out there. Right now however, there is not enough time to go searching for every single one of them. After listening to Berach's speech, he nodded.
"I agree. It gives us something to go on for now."

Berach nods, starting to stack the books one on top of the other, gathering them in his arms again. "All right, give me a short bit and I'll come out with a good list!" And with that, he retreated to the back room, swinging the door shut with a loud and excited WHAM!
Sure, it was an important task, but it was also reason to go through all of the stories he loved so much. Except this time, for justice.

Elysium stared after Berach after he had gone, the sound of the door slamming ringing in her ears. 'Your friend seems very energetic,' she noted to Durante.

'It's really quite admirable,' Sophitia added with a small, amused smile on her face.[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

Durante stretches his neck as he responds to the two women.
"He sure is... I wonder what he'll find though. Not to mention... what to do while we wait..."
He then mutters to himself, though it's still clear enough to be understood.
"Man, I miss being young."

"Man, I miss being young."
---
'Don't we all,' Elysium replied quietly.
---
Sophitia stood up and began to clear the table, waving Elysium away when she offered to help.
'So, how did you both meet?' she asked Durante casually in the hopes of maintaining what little conversation there was.[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

Durante turned to Sophitia after she asked him her question.
"I assume you mean Berach?"
He then folds his hands on his lap to let Sophitia clean up and to relax a bit.
"It wasn't too long ago actually. I met him in a port at Athens. He wanted to come with me since he wanted to visit the works of Hephaestus while I figured his knowledge of myths and history might come in handy some day. We'll see how good that decision will be, won't we?"
Well, if she wants to carry a conversion, might as well ask her something.
"So I heard you faced off with Soul Edge before. How did that play out?"
Perhaps something in her testimony might help them out later on.

"So I heard you faced off with Soul Edge before. How did that play out?"
Sophitia paused for a moment, but then carried on with the dishes and began to speak, feeling Elysium's eyes on her as she did so.
'If it's what I think you're talking about, well... that was a few years ago. I, just like the other Greek warriors, was under orders from Hephaestus to destroy Soul Edge. I eventually tracked down its wielder in a port in Valencia, a pirate - Cervantes - and though I managed to destroy one of the two blades the shards wounded me before I could finish the battle. A ninja came to my aid and defeated Cervantes, and though she brought me home and managed to remove most of the shards, there was still one remaining. It is that shard that has caused my children to be... tainted...'
She trailed off, lost in thought.[avatar]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memprpRYlj1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]
