Some few hours after the break of dawn, the two of them return to the Alexandra house before starting their trek to find a way to stop Soul Edge. Only two things laid in Durante's mind, to say their thanks and goodbyes and to query Soul Calibur. The black knight walked up to the door and gave a solid knock.

A knock sounded just as Sophitia finished laying the table for breakfast. Swiftly opening the door, she smiled - partly in relief - when she saw two familiar faces.
'Kali mera sas. (Good morning.) I must admit, I did wonder where you both were this morning! You should have woken me, I was beginning to grow worried. I trust you're both alright? I hope everything went well, whatever it was that you went out for. I won't pry, the main thing is that you're back unscathed, I -'
Sophitia stopped mid-sentence, fascinated, her eyes wide. 'Is that - Gods, where did you get that sword?!'

Durante turned his head a bit to the side, almost in a shy or embarrassed matter. He also grips his left forearm with his right hand.
"Oh, sorry... I didn't want to wake you up in the dead of night. I apologize for making you worry."
He then looks at her face when she noticed his sword. Her question seemed rather strange in that she didn't want to pry, yet she asked about the sword. He answered her question regardless as he reaches his right hand over his back to detach it.
"Oh this? I asked Hephaestus to forge it for me. His work is a thing of wonder, isn't it?"

Berach scratches his head, laughing slightly. Damn. Now he felt even ruder for leaving without telling them what happened. Though in retrospect, he could have left a note. Damn times two. What an obvious solution.
"Sorry, sorry! Didn't mean to seem like we were just going to bail on you, after your generosity. We're all good and all right. Sorry, sorry."

"Oh this? I asked Hephaestus to forge it for me. His work is a thing of wonder, isn't it?"
Sophitia was speechless. 'It - it certainly is...'she said, somewhat amazed, 'so... you just asked him to forge a sword for you and he did, just like that...?'
Privately, Sophitia thought this was a little strange, as it was a huge favour to ask a god for a weapon. And did Durante even worship her gods...? Still, she supposed, under the circumstances, perhaps it was a little different. And who was she to question the work of the gods?
"Sorry, sorry! Didn't mean to seem like we were just going to bail on you, after your generosity. We're all good and all right. Sorry, sorry."
Smiling, Sophitia waved his apology away. 'Don't worry, don't worry, you're here now. Come inside, you're just in time for breakfast. No doubt you must be hungry after your trip!'[avatar]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memprpRYlj1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

Now that she brought it up, climbing a mountain without anything to eat does make one starving.
"Yea... I guess we have some time to eat before we head off, right Berach?"

Berach nodded, bowing again at her gracious offer and heading inside. "That would be wonderful, ma'am." Time was of the essence. Every delayed second meant another inch Soul Edge could grab off this Earth. He would have to consult with Soul Calibur as quickly as possible, figure out where Soul Edge was, and then punch the evil sword really hard. Still, nothing wrong with having some food to lighten the weight of such heavy matters. Besides, he was in no hurry to have the blade abandon its human form.

Shutting the door behind them, Sophitia gestured to the table, at which Elysium was already sitting. She had already set out a variety of fresh fruit, bread, olives, pastries, cheeses, and cold meats and was just about to prepare the beverages.
'What would everyone like to drink?' she asked, 'I have herbal teas, milk, water, even wine if you feel like it - or perhaps you'd like to try a Greek coffee? They're rather strong, though, I must say.'
---
'I'll have just some water, please,' Elysium said with a small smile. She eyed the sword in the knight's hand. Hopefully it would prove to be powerful against Soul Edge's magic, but who could say until it was put to the test...?[avatar]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memprpRYlj1rab50go1_250.png[/avatar]

Durante followed Sophitia's directions and sat by the table. When she asked him what he wanted to drink, he turned his head to her.
"Tea will be fine, thanks."
He then turned his attention towards Elysium.
"Morning. Did you have a good sleep?"
He reaches for some of the fruits, breads, cheeses, and meats and places them on his plate. He figures it's better to eat a lot now while he still can to make sure he has enough energy for the long trek ahead of him.

"I'll try the coffee, please. Might as well go with something strong." He focused pretty heavily on the meat and bread--a simple set of tastes, but mainly because his mind was occupied elsewhere. The trees were silent this morning. There was very little presence of Soul Edge here--there were plenty of the leftover effects, but only a little of the malfested blade itself. A few shards here and there...but for the most part, it was gone.
The big question would be where to start looking.

'Certainly.'

While Sophitia was preparing the drinks, Elysium reached for a slice of bread, drizzling some olive oil on it.
"Morning. Did you have a good sleep?"
It took her a moment to realise she was being spoken to. Glancing up from her plate, she noticed it was Durante and nodded slightly.
'I did, thank you,' she replied with a faint smile, 'and yourself?'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

Durante picked up one of his cheeses as Elysium answered back. He then replied back to her.
"Not really. I had to leave during the middle of the night, so I didn't get much sleep."
Not wanting to dwell on the formalities too long, he quickly went to the point.
"I wanted to ask you... do you know of any alternative methods for entering Tartarus that does not require death?"
And with that, he bit into his cheese, still in his unusual habit of not taking off his helmet to do so.

'I see.'
"I wanted to ask you... do you know of any alternative methods for entering Tartarus that does not require death?"
Elysium paused and looked at the knight. 'May I ask as to why you would want to enter this place...?'[avatar]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_memptpKNCn1rab50go1_250.jpg[/avatar]

The black knight leaned back on his chair as he replied.
"They say that Soul Edge has some power to use hellfire. If that's true, then I figure only thing that might be able to withstand such large temperatures is to go into Tartarus itself to gather equipment that can resist hellfire. After all, if it is in there in the first place then it has to survive such an environment, no?"
And with that, he finishes half his cheese and puts it on a slab of bread along with one of the meats.

Elysium studied the knight, inside rather amazed at the lengths he was prepared to go to to defeat Soul Edge. There was a long paused, and then -
'There is a way,' she said quietly, 'however... it is by no means easy.'
---
Sophitia listened to the conversation, but said nothing. Making her way back to the table, she served the beverages and sat down, turning her attention to the Spirit Sword as she spoke.
---
'No doubt your gods, whichever ones you mortals worship, have closed the portals to the underworld - whether it be Tartarus, the depths of Jahannam, Naraka - in the end it is all the same place,' she continued, 'but only a select few from the mortal world are able - and allowed - to trespass, and it is for that reason that a place of hellfire such as Tartarus requires that very substance to enter it. We all know of the one... entity that is capable of providing us with it, but you can rest assured he will not give his power easily. We will have to take what we need by force and evade the consequences later. However, if you understand this and are still willing to go ahead with your plans, it will indeed mean...'
She trailed off, hearing Sophitia's quiet voice finishing her sentence.
