"Without swearing allegiance or anything of the sort, we may hear what you have to tell or ask us. And you have to help me with my past and not hurt my friend."
"Fine then Phantom. You win this one. Where is that damn sword so we can get rid of it. So you can help Viola learn her past. But like I said. You do something bad... I will put you back in the ground where you belong. Same with that vampiric monster I know."
That last sentence caught the Cursed Sword's attention.
Oh? So your goal is to exert revenge upon someone? This is the sort of thing I can, ah, help you with... who is this 'vampiric monster', as you so kindly put it...?
He started to circle them, lazily twirling his swords around his skeletal fingers, waiting for a response.[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]

Vanessa was slightly irratated with The sword's curiousity. So she turns to the sword and calmly says to him.
"How about you go lay down in the coffin you belong in and don't meddle in someone's personal business like that. My vendetta does not concern you. Nor Viola."
Hearing her words Vanessa noticed that she sounded like Michael. Seven years ago.

Soul Edge resisted the temptation to slay her where she should. His patience was beginning to run out...
As you wish, he replied, lazily.[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]

Even if nothing was already done, Viola regretted having somehow accepted to help Soul Edge even if she tried not to swear it or something to avoid being chained by some oath. But she mostly worried for Vanessa.
Vanessa had tried to protect her all the way like a mother and because of Viola, she was now stuck with Soul Edge as well… Vanessa had her personnal war to fight. Even if Viola wondered if revenge was the solution for Vanessa, she didn’t know what happened between her and that vampire and like the older witch said, it was her own business.
Viola would like to tell her to leave and not mind her but she also thought that Soul Edge came for them, not only her… Beside Soul Edge must probably even value Vanessa’s help more than hers since she was a powerful 200 years old witch while Viola didn’t even know how to control all her powers that seemed already less powerful than Vanessa’s own. So she probably couldn’t ask Vanessa to leave her and to go away in peace. Vanessa would probably refuse and Soul Edge would torment her anyway… Yet Vanessa was staying because of her…
Maybe she could ask her to leave anyway. Maybe she should try to leave with Vanessa and forget her past… Well forget about remembering it… Maybe Soul Edge was lying when he said he would help her… She would be inclined to think so… Since her orb never told her anything about her, she couldn’t try to look in it for advice… Not even for Vanessa’s fate since she somehow felt some link with her orb and Soul Edge. Maybe he would know where Vanessa was going or what she was doing that way… And that feeling about Soul Edge, like she belonged there… and the fact she was a malfested…
Beside Soul Edge only wanted them to try to destroy Soul Calibur and if Soul Calibur would kill them then why protect it? But Soul Edge was a great danger to humanity… Maybe, probably, more than Soul Calibur… But maybe not for the malfested… Yet whatever the way, she had her past and her family to discover… or not. Maybe she didn’t even have a family… Maybe her past was horrible… Viola stayed silent before she said:
"I can't speak for Vanessa but she has nothing to gain with you. Leave her alone and I will help you."
She turned to Vanessa who seemed to really abhorre serving Soul Edge’s purpose and told her:
"… Vanessa… I don’t want anything bad to happen to you. I really appreciate the fact you protected me all the way, you have been very kind and I don’t know if I ever met someone like that before but I am really touched. Yet you are devoting your efforts on something futile. If gaining back my memory is at the cost of sacrificing your life, I can’t do it. We have to part."

Vanessa looks at Viola and her protective side. "No Viola. I am staying. No matter what that skeleton does to me. I won't break. He cannot break my will to protect you. I have been alive for 200 years now. If I die. I die." Vanessa stops to sees that a tear is falling from her own eyes. Knowing that she knows that her fate is sealed to serve Soul Edge.
"I don't want to separate from you. I taught you how to control your magical abilities.. I cared about you like my own bambino.." She says to the witch in a sad tone.

Viola looked at Vanessa with sadness showing in her eyes. She was moved by Vanessa’s words. She knew Vanessa would stay and she was relieved and scared of it at the same time. Relieved for her and scared for Vanessa. She told her friend on a soft tone.
"Merci Vanessa."
She then turned to Soul Edge with a more neutral gaze showing no real emotion.
"So what do you want us to do? Go and find Soul Calibur to destroy her? Do you have a special way?"
With a gesture she brought her orb before her as she spoke to the evil sword. Lowering her eyes toward the orb, Viola suddenly had a vision of a beautiful woman in some kind of greek goddess clothes. So that was Soul Calibur?

"So what do you want us to do? Go and find Soul Calibur to destroy her?"
The Cursed Sword rolled his hollow eyes. Why, yes, that is what I have been trying to convey for the last ten minutes...
"Do you have a special way?"
Soul Edge resisted a snort of incredulity. Everything he did was special - in fact, it was more than that. It was impressive, destructive, terrifying. But about this particular special way, as the girl had put it. Now that an alliance with Algol was out of the question, he would recruit an army. Children and young adults were easily manipulated, were they not? Eager to prove their worth... and they would be quick and agile, reckless in their fighting. Of course, the more people the better, no matter what age, yet the Cursed Sword felt that starting with the young would draw the elders into supporting him - especially if they had children of their own who were willing to join him in defeating his twin.
But for now...
All of that will become clear in due course. But yes... you could say I have a... certain way of doing things...[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]

Viola was somewhat insulted at the way Soul Edge spoke to her. She answered the sword on a slightly cold tone.
"I was meaning a special way to attack Soul Calibur, a plan. But fine, we shall go see her and see what we can do."
She then gazed toward Osthreinsburg.
"But first I have to go to that castle over there. Something… is there."
Yet somehow she wanted to get away from this eerie place very soon. Maybe her destiny was that she only had to meet Soul Edge here but she wanted to see that castle as well. It seemed so special... Even if it was eerie she felt connected to it as she was connected to Soul Edge.
The sword's words also scared and worried her. His certain way of doing things... Those unknown things and hidden agenda were frightening... and all would become clear in due course... Will he really help her with her past? Of course, the sword wanted to keep those secrets and not help her already... He needed her services... As long as he would need her, he would not say too much...

Vanessa looks at her scythe. Wondering why she is struggling with life? Due to a simple vampire killing her lover? What else could it be about that vampire that has been her friend all those years ago.
"Maybe you can find something there in that castle. Maybe we both can figure out who you are." The ebony haired witch says to the white haired Seer. Still hating the Phantom skeleton that was near them.
Vanessa is battling a inner conflict in her body. A powerful feeling in her heart and soul. She looks at Soul Edge with a hateful question.
"Michael. Michael is who I am trying to get back at. Do you know of a strange metal fragment that he got a hold of in his chest?" She asks with a irratated look.

Soul Edge nodded. Very well.
Then the witch spoke. "Maybe you can find something there in that castle. Maybe we both can figure out who you are."
She then turned to the Cursed Sword.
"Michael. Michael is who I am trying to get back at. Do you know of a strange metal fragment that he got a hold of in his chest?"
A strange metal fragment...?
The only 'fragment' that this Michael could have possible could have gotten hold of was that of either Soul Edge or Soul Calibur. Though most of the shattered pieces had been restored when the two of them had gained human forms, there was no doubt that some shards were missing.
Perhaps this was what was preventing Soul Edge from prevailing? If he could get to that fragment...
I have a fairly good idea of what you are speaking of, yes. Why, what is it you wish to know...?[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]

"I want to know if it is apart of your blade. Since he is a vampire. What I read on Soul Calibur is that it can purify people. You are the opposite. From what I guess. You make people infected. Vampirism, other forms of infected people. So tell me. Is his fragment yours?"
Vanessa asks in a hurry. Hoping to figure out what happened to her friend all those years ago.

Viola wasn't saying a word but she was listening to Vanessa and Soul Edge with much interest.
She still had a lot of questions about her own life but also this thing about the swords was very interesting.
And what would happen to this vampire if he got his shard taken? Would he die or become human?
Still listening to the conversation, she also tried to see once more about that vampire's future in her orb. But he was still surrounded by that strange essence... Protected by it or something... By that essence that seemed to be another spirit...

Yes. His words were blunt, just as he meant them to be. No doubt you wish to purify this vampire, don't you?
The Cursed Sword laughed inwardly. She would never succeed. This vampiric acquaintance of hers would die before he was purified - he would make sure of that. He lived for corruption. But if Soul Edge could somehow recruit him...[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]

"No just let me kill him and then your fragment is yours. I do not care for him. I just wanted to know what fragment made him into the vampire he is." Vanessa's words were blunt as well. But she was denying the fact that she has a crush on him. Despite her ex-lover being killed by him.
"Why me?" The witch says in her head.

The vampire would die, and Soul Edge would gain power from the fragment...? The Cursed Sword spoke just one word.
Deal.[avatar]http://imageshack.us/a/img812/6305/souledgescrp150x124.jpg[/avatar]
